(Warning: Violence, death)
There was a long moment of silence.
K9 took out a grenade looking thing but put it away again after math-mask shook his head.
Then Zack threw a stick at the door. It was shot to smithereens in a split second.
'We're gonna have to come up with something better than that...'
That moment someone (presumably someone from the attack team) ran to them from around the house.
'Look guys, we can't get in if this is the best you can do. Here,' He gave a large black plank like thing to Ellie. 'Use it.' And ran back to where he came from.
'Great! With a ballistic shield we can divert their attention to one person while the others shoot at them. Any volunteers?'
'Normally the weakest of the group has to go...' They all looked at Ellie.
'Would she be able to take the force of impact of all those bullets?'
'Sure! ... probably.'
'Er...?' Wait what?
'Just, hold that part and strap your arm in.' Zack adjusted it. 'And you'll be fine.'
She looked at him with a worried expression.
'It's bulletproof. And it's way over your size so you don't have to worry about standing straight up.' He added.
'All you have to do is walk over there. See that stone? If you reach it you can stop and concentrate on holding the shield up. Don't get hurt.'
Ellie nodded, looked at the stone once more, and started walking towards it. Keep the shield towards the door. I shouldn't be so worried, it's bulletproof after all. ...but I wonder how many bullets it can take...
The first ones hit suddenly and loudly, almost making Ellie drop it, but then she realised that she was pretty much dragging it anyway. The force of the bullets shook her entire body but she carried on, step by step until she reached the aforementioned stone. Then she tilted the shield towards herself carefully so that she could see out of the transparent slit.
It's pretty smashed up but I can sorta still see through.
The enemy was lined up along the two sides of the hallway, each in a doorway, only leaning out to shoot. After a short while, Ellie noticed that the ones furthest back seemed to have stopped. Slowly, one after the other, they stopped. The last three or four she could see better. She saw a person run past them. Before they fell to the ground and ceased fire.
She watched the person casually walk out of the house.
'Yeah! Team back-attack's arrived! We're no longer team diversion!'
Ellie peeked out from behind the shield. I don't have to stay here right? Oh! The mysterious attacker's just a girl?
The others went towards her so Ellie did too.
All black! Her clothes, her hair, her mask! The only thing that isn't black is her skin. She spotted the slightly red damp marks on her clothes. Yuck! Ok, I take that back, it's dark red.
'The others are inside. They're searching the ground floor and told me to join your group and to tell you to send scouts to the second story and the basement.'
'Ok, that makes five of us...'
Zack slipped over to Ellie who was taking the shield off her arm and whispered. 'Remember how I said I pretended to follow orders way too exactly? Well, I basically learnt that from her.'
