cut to Paris, France, with the Monsieur Pompeux getting out of a car, then the Monsieur Pompeux appears.

"Monsieur Pompeux!" The museum director kisses Monsiur Pompeux.

"To what do we owe the presence of the world's foremost gem expert?"

"The chief of police sent me. He was concerned that during the recent heist attempt, the Dumont diamond was replaced with a phony"

they all gasp, then Museum Director opens the door, with Monsieur Pompeux walking in to the diamond, snapping his fingers, looking at a diamond, sniffing it, licking it.

"Ooh-la-la! You have been duped"

"What? We have?!"

"Yes! BY ME!" He then shoots at the men with sleeping darts.

"But what is...?" He looks at Monsieur Pompeux head, "Oh, no!" He runs away screaming for help, "Help!"

Bratt shoots at Museum Director, taking off Monsieur Pompeux outfit, pressing play button, with the music of "Take on Me" by A-ha playing, grappling up, revealing the disco light, grabbing the diamond, going up.

"I've been a bad boy! Or should I say, Je suis un mauvais garcon!" Bratt laughs.

cut back to the house, pouring rain, with the music of "There's Something Special" by Pharrel Williams playing, with Lucy looking around, looking at the girls sleeping.

"Oh" she closes the door.

the girls continue sleeping, forming a Minion shape, closing the door.

Then down in the lab, the bad guys just informed the bad guys that they were going on vacation.

"Vacation?"

"Unfortunately and yes"

"Well I'm glad to see you guys still have jobs"

"Well it pays since we do this for princess"

They head upstairs and wolf pushes the door to show princess sleeping.

"At least you guys still have jobs...I don't know what to do, the minions quit, it's all over for me"

"Don't give up Gru, it's like we used to say, when one door closes-"

"Another opens"

"I'm sure you'll figure something out, now excuse us, we got to figure out where we're going on vacation"

then cut to Gru who is sitting on the rocket, bored. Then Lucy walks up to him.

"Hey, Gru. What you doing down here? In the dark. Alone"

"Oh, nothing. Just thinking"

"You okay?"

"Oh, yes. Yeah, I'm fine. I'm fine. It's just... Aah, I don't know. I guess I just feel like a failure. Like I don't have a purpose anymore. Meanwhile The bad guys get a promotion at work, they get to go on a two month paid vacation"

"Oh good for them but Hey, mister, you are not a failure"

"If only I could have nailed Bratt. So many times, I almost had him. But now I'll never get the chance, 'cause I have been kicked to the curb"

"Gru, you've got to let this go. It's time to look forward. Things will get better, I promise" she kisses Gru, walking away, then Gru sighs.

cut to a stranger, holding an umbrella, with the Minions walking by.

"Oh, excuse me. Uh, pardon me, young people? Would you tell me how to get to this address?" the Minion looks at a paper.

"I'm looking for a Mr. Gru"
