Erasing You

Chapter 5

He was on cloud nine, several months had passed and each night he went out with Macaque. It was like when they first met, getting to know each other all over again except this time Wukong was giving the shadow a hundred percent of his attention. He showered the monkey in affection every chance he got; gifts, flowers, sweets and sweet touches. He was making up for all the time's he left the other alone, he was making up for all the promises he broke even if the shadow didn't remember them. He was going to be the perfect mate for Macaque, this was his only chance.

"Earth to Monkey King" Wukong flinched and spun in his heel to face his succesor.

"What's wrong bud? Struggling with the training?"

"No I'm handling the movements right, heh I'll be summoning tornados in no time" Mk smiled at his master, he's been doing well not letting the king know something was off. 

"So what did you need?" The king looked curious yet amused by his student.

"Well you've been dating for a while......do you think i could meet your partner~" Mk wanted to see if Wukong would come clean on his own. Meiying warned him not to press the king, she was scared that he might hurt Mk.

"What's with the sudden interest?" There was a coldness to his voice that chilled Mk to the bone.

He shook it off and threw on a pout "oh come on! Im curious as to who would catch your eye, i bet their amazing!"

Wukong bought it, he believed his student was just a bright eyed air head excited to see his master doing well. His body relaxed, he hadn't even realized it had tensed up "sorry bud but im keeping my dating life seperate."

"What!? That's not fair....." 

The king ruffled Mk's hair and chuckled "sorry but i have alot of enemies, I'd rather word didn't get out that i have another weakness."

"Another weakness?" Mk knew he wouldn't get a response from the monkey king but he didn't realize Wukong had weaknesses. His eyes widened when he saw Wukong looking at him with fondness in his eyes. In that moment he knew exactly what the king was reffering to.

It gave Mk conflicting feelings, he was honored that Wukong had grown attached to him. At the same time he was still upset about what he did to Red Son. There were also other incidents that Mk had to keep in mind. After all Red Son and Mk had looked into a few disappearances that happened over the months. The mortal was ninety percent sure monkey king caused them since the people who had disappeared were connected to Macaque. 

"By the way bud.....you've been hanging out with Red Son quite a bit" There was that chill again.

"H-how do you know that?" The mortal panicked slightly but he knew this would happen eventually.

"I told you bud, i like to keep an eye on you" the hand ruffling his hair stilled. Mk could of sworn the claws twitched, tempted to dig into his skull.

Mk was no actor but he prepared himself for this scenario. He looked away a bit embarrassed "I'll tell you but you can't tell any one.....promise!"

"Ok bud i promise."

"I'm trying to get closer to him and ask him out" the idea of being Red Son's boyfriend actually made Mk blush which really sold the lie.
