Right person, Wrong time

A stanza in my poetry
that I could never rhyme
You were the right person
but at the wrong time.

You were the sweet melody
in my silent night,
A star that faded before
it could take flight.

Promises whispered,
dreams left behind,
You were the right person
but at the wrong time.

You, the clock,
told such a somber chime,
A love story paused,
frozen in time.

Through tears that fall like rain,
I pule and whine,
For you were the right person,
but at the wrong time.
