Author's beginning notes:
If you have found this fanfiction, then I am glad to have you. While I have written fanfictions in the past, this is my first one I have ever published. If you have any critiques you would like to give, please do so. While this is a fanfiction, I would like to address the fact that both Aquaman and Poison Ivy already have canon relationships in the comics and DCEU. This is to not detract from those in anyway, but just to shine light on a new relationship altogether. Both Ivy and Aquaman have connections to the earth that give off more similarities than differences, which is why I have always shipped them. Please sit and enjoy the ride. I do not plan on this being a mature rating (excessive language, violence, SMUT, etc.) but could change.

The earth was a planet many called home. From animals to humans to beasts, earth was a domain for many. Aquaman was one of these inhabitants of this planet. However, his love for the earth, especially the ocean, would never waver. Yet, anxiety was at the forefront of his mind. Brainiac had proven to be a major opponent that the justice league had to face. In fact, even foes of previous battles joined in this fight to bring him down. Superman was one of the heroes that aided in the battle against Brianiac. His assistance was what brought down the tyrannical ruler in the end, but not without giving his own life as well. With the passing of Superman, Aquaman was anxious, and he had a right to be. He thought of himself as a great guardian and ruler of Atlantis, but Superman was always there to give a lift when hope seemed to be fading. Now, keeping hope alive was hard. Other enemies learning that the man of steel was gone could easily take the initiative to invade earth. This was the reason Aquaman was anxious. The thought of there being no hope of stopping the potential invaders that could threaten his very home.
"Ale?". Aquaman was taken aback by the familiar voice entering his domain. Looking towards the entrance of his quarters, the Atlanteans' suspicions were confirmed on seeing the dark knight. "Batman, what are you doing here? I would have made preparations for your visit". The dark shadow scoffed, "Usually, people aren't prepared when I come". Aquaman laughed and motioned for the dark knight to take a seat at his table. Sliding a chair forward, Batman slid the drink over to aquaman. Afterward, he poured one for himself. The ruler of Atlantis took a sip and looked up, trying to see why the dark knight would have come. With hardly any emotion, Batman interjected the atlanteans silent analysis. "I can see that you're trying to understand why I came. Don't worry, I will get to that. However, I can tell that something is troubling you".
The ruler of Atlantis took another sip of his drink and then sighed. Quickly realizing trying to dodge the question was not the best option, Aquaman spoke freely. "With the passing of Superman, I am perplexed if we will be able to handle threats attempting to attack earth, both land and sea". Batman took the comment earnestly and hummed with understanding. "You're right, Superman was one of the best. He always had a positive look out on things that usually clashed with my pessimism". Aquaman laughed enjoyably at the thought of how the two superheroes were so similar yet so different in other areas. Batman continued, "but we can't give up. He wouldn't want that. And I know you don't want to give up either. We still have the justice league. Diana, Barry, Hal, you, and me. Together, we can stop anything if we give our all".
Aquaman smiled with the warm thought Batman offered. "Thank you Batman. You're welcome anytime to Atlantis". Batman put a hand on his friend's shoulder, "Thanks. Now, I need to address the issue at hand". The king of Atlantis regained his composure to take in what the dark knight had to say. "With Superman gone, crime has been on a slow incline. To add, the value of kryptonite on the black market has dropped. Instead, a new mineral is gaining value on the black market, being raw metal ore from Themyscira". Aquaman was perplexed, "wait, wouldn't Diana be the one to talk to?". Batman smiled, "funny you should ask, this is partly her plan. We decided this would be a great way to have reserves. Diana wants the atlanteans to store some of the ore from Themyscira here. You would be welcome to use it in your armory". Aquaman was suddenly in a state of euphoria. Atlaneans no doubt had excellent ore that they harvested from the ocean's depth, but ore from Themyscira would greatly help with innovation. "I would be delighted to uphold this request. Consider it done".
Batman got up and began to collect his things. Aquaman rose, realizing the bat was getting ready to leave. "Wait, you're not leaving already?". Batman nodded in disappointment, "unfortunately, I am going to have to leave. I received news on my way to Atlantis that someone escaped Arkham". Aquaman grabbed his trident, "I can be of assistance". A small smile eclipsed the dark knight's face, but quickly faded. "Thanks but you know I work best alone". The atlantean put down his trident. "Then, could you tell me who this escapee is?". Batman sighed, "Dr. Isley escaped during the night. Witnesses say Dr. Quinzel assisted her in her escape which is very probable. Both of them helped in the battle against Brainiac, mainly for their own agendas, Ivy's mostly to protect the green. Yet, they helped nonetheless so I am going in with a more mild approach". Aquaman was confused. "If Ivy helped fight Brainiac, why did she get sentenced back to Arkham". "About a month ago, Ivy and Harley were caught trying to steal an airplane out of Gotham International Airport. My main concern was Ivy due to her metahuman abilities. However, when I caught her, Harley had already made an escape with the help of Ivy unbeknownst to me. Ivy was only to spend a year in Arkham but I guess she got a second wind". Aquaman nodded in understanding, then led the dark knight to the exit of Atlantis. Upon getting there, Aquaman noticed the submarine in the underwater docking bay. "I admit, I knew you had a lot, but I did not know you had a submarine". "I have everything. It was great talking with you Arthur. You should be receiving the ore from Themyscira in a few days". "So long", said Aquaman as the dark knight got into his sub.

Poker, drinks, darts, pool, you name it. Bars usually have everything to keep someone occupied. They're also great places for people to think. This is exactly what Dr. Isley was doing with a drink in front of her. She lifted her drink up to her eye level, seeing the ice slowly melt and fade. Suddenly, a big eye came into view through the glass. At the sight of Harley's eye, Ivy jumped back in shock. "You don't have to scare me like that Harl!". Quinzel snickered, "that's kinda the point, tho". Isley breathed out deeply to express displeasure. Harley quickly turned on the bar stool and looked at Ivy. "I can tell something is bothering you Red". Ivy scoffed, "not now Harl, I don't need a therapy session". Quinzel snickered, "um, it's kinda what I do, so..." with baby doll eyes and a sweet voice, Harl leaned over, "what's bothering you sweety". Ivy took a breath in, realizing that Harl was not her psychologist but her best friend. "Honestly, you didn't really need to break me out of Arkham, I was planning just to pay my time there". Quinzel was shook, "What!! You wanted to stay in Arkham. Why?! Plus, I would be all alone now that Mr. J is locked up there for good". Ivy snickered, "why didn't you break him out?". Harley rolled her eyes, "I'm not ready to handle puddin' again. Thought I'd let him soak up some sun in those halls. Got you out instead. Why aren't you glad?".
Dr. Isley gathered her thoughts.
"It's not that I'm not glad you broke me out, but I'm broke. I don't have money. I don't have a reliable alias. I don't have status. All I have is the Green... and you". "That's sweet hun, but don't say that about yourself. You helped the Justice League take on Brainiac. If you hadn't tied up Brainiac in that vine, Superman wouldn't have been able to deliver his last kaboom. I was just runnin' around hitting his goons with my hammer. Use your powers to show who you really are". Ivy nodded in understanding, "you're right, I think I can help people while helping the green". Harl laughed, "what, you're trying to clean up or somethin'. Girls like us are always going to have a bad rap. Anyway, right before Batsee got Mr. J, he told me something about a plan Wonderwoman and the Bat had all packed up nicely -".
Ivy cut off Harl, "wait, are you about to give me a proposal?? I just got out of Arkham". Harley gave off a single monotone laugh. "You know what they say, out of the frying pan and into the fire. Besides, I WAS TALKIN'! Okay, back to the story. Wonder woman is shipping some ore from Thymacrapa to Water boy's home town, ya know, Atlantis. If you nab just a little of that rock, you would be rich. What you said about being broke would no longa be an issue". Ivy stomped her foot in the ground. Then she thought about it, "I can't believe I am actually thinking about this, Harl. This could get me in deeper water than where I am now". Harley tilted her head and looked up at Ivy, "Red, this could help you. Besides, just give anybody a good ol' kiss if they see you and make them forget you were even there. See! Donso. Hey, you could also give me a few of those rocks ya know". Ivy got off her stool, "Fine. I'll do it. Thanks Harl for the tip. I should go and prepare for this endeavor". Harley clapped, "I love it when you get cocky, now go get em' Red!". Ivy smiled with anticipation as she began her walk back to her lair.
