Chapter 5

"What are we gonna do?" Helen asks her husband and best friend.

"I don't know. Maybe Dicker will find something?" Bob tells his wife.

"Dicker is done, Bob. Any thought we had about being Supers again is fantasy. One of us has gotta get a job." Helen tells her husband.

"One of us?" Bob asks confused

"You did a long stint at Insuricare." Helen tells Bob. "I can't leave my daughter all alone again" Lucy tells them sadly.

"Hated every minute of it." Bob says remembering his time working.

"I know it was hard on you. Maybe it's my turn at in the private sector and you take care of the kids and May is more than welcome to stay with the kids Luc." Helen tells her making Lucy smile.

"No, I'm doing this. I need to do this. You know where my suit and ties are?" Bob asks his wife.

"Burned up when-" "The jet destroyed our house." "Wait what?"

"Yeah long story Luc." Helen says chuckling. "We can't count on anyone else now, Bob. It's just us. We can't wait for—" Helen stops hearing a door bang.

The three stand up getting in a stance. They look around for a bit and see someone coming.

"No lifeguard on duty! Swim at your own risk." Lucius says.

"Oh, where'd you go today? I noticed you missed all the "fun". Lucy says sarcastically as she smiles.

"Don't be mad because I know when to leave a party. I'm just as illegal as you guys gorgeous. Besides, I knew the cops would let you go." Lucius tells her making Bob shake his head

"Yeah, in spite of Bob's best efforts." Helen says. "Yeah, yeah, yeah."

"I heard the program shut down. How much longer are you in this motel?" Lucius asks them.

"Two weeks." Bob tells him as Lucius holds Lucy's waist.

"Now, you know the offer still stands." Lucius tells them as Lucy shakes her head no.

"You're very generous, but there are seven of us. We wouldn't do that to you" Helen tells him.

"Well, door's always open. You know, the news isn't all bad. While you guys were being...detained, I was approached by a dude who represents this tycoon." Lucius tells them as he gives Bob a business card.

"Winston Deavor."

"Wants to talk with me, with you three, about hero stuff. I checked him out. He's legit. Trained under Dicker. He wants to meet." Lucius tells them as Lucy looks in deep thought.

"Ah, jeez! More superhero trouble. We just came from the police station, Lucius." Helen says.

"When?" Lucy asks Lucius.

"Tonight. I'm going there now." He tells her as he opens his jacket to reveal his supersuit underneath.

"You enjoy, I'm sitting this one out." Helen tells him as she gives the business card back to Lucius.

"He wants all four of us." Lucius tells them as he holds Lucy close to him making her heart beat go fast.

"Honey, let's just at least hear what he has to say." Bob tells his wife and she looks at her best friend.

"You got the address, I'll meet you guys there." Lucius says kissing Lucy's temple and as he lets go her making Helen and Bob smirk at the two.

"Go in our Supersuits?" Helen says.

"Yeah. Might wanna wear the old Supersuits. Got a feeling he's nostalgic." Lucius tells Helen and Bob.

Dash sits on the floor inside a fort him and May built as she sleeps laying her head on his lap.

Lucy kisses her head and walks towards Helen and Bob.

"Where are you going?" Violet asks the adults suspiciously.

"The fresh air is especially good tonight." Bob tells his daughter as he opens the door.

"If Jack-Jack wakes up-" "I know the drill."

As Bob,Helen, and Lucy walk out the door, Violet notices Helen's boots before they close the door making her frown in confusion.
