After a few minutes of staring at my fathers lifeless body, I heard muttered voices and people shouting 'clear'. "H-help!" I sobbed, tears mixing with my blood, my clothes soaked as I shivered in the pool of my fathers and my own blood.
A few minutes later and two officers were picking me up and each held my arm over a shoulder, slowly taking me to the elevator and down to where I could hear the ambulance and police cars. As they helped me outside, I could see three people running towards me, but remained unable to identify them. "Oh my fucking god!" Sam screamed, at what I think was at the sight of me. "Alexandria!" She called as her pounding footsteps got closer and wrapped me in a hug, blood staining her top.
Sam and the police officers helped me into an ambulance as paramedics began to assess me. "M-mom?" I whispered looking around, Sam shaking her head softly as I watched Tara pull out her phone with shaking hands and nod at me.
Sam climbed into the ambulance with me as Tara was helped in as well. The other teenager texted my mom what hospital we were going to. "Is he?" I gulped not being able to say the word for fear of it being real.
"I am so sorry A." Tara sighed rubbing my back slightly as the paramedic wrapped bandages around my abdomen. "He didn't make it." She told me, my heart practically shattering into a million pieces.
"Everyone around me is dying." I whimpered, knuckling my eyes as the reality kicked in. The paramedic gave me some pain killers as the adrenalin wore off and I started to feel the agony my body had been put through.
Two hours later and they had released me, my arm in a sling and my abdomen heavily bandaged, Sam and Tara had stayed with me, telling me that my mom was waiting in the reception of the hospital. "Please can we go, I'm sick of seeing the inside of hospitals." I muttered, rubbing my eyes, exhaustion creeping into my skin as I stifled a yawn. Tara hobbled along beside me on her crutches as Sam walked behind the both of us, tying her hair back.
The Carpenter sisters had decided that they were leaving town and trying to convince Lexi to go too. They knew that she didn't have the best relationship with her mom, and they saw her as family and wanted to ensure that she was kept safe.
The seventeen year old having seen too much grief and loss in her short lifetime.
Mom and Aunt Sid spotted me and came running towards us, wrapping me in bone crushing hugs. They had both been crying but were trying to hide it. "I'm so sorry mom, I promised to protect him and I failed. I-I watched him die, I was frozen." My mom grabbed my hair and gently pressed a kiss to my forehead, the way my dad used to.
"Neither of you should be here." I mumbled, mom and aunt Sid shaking their heads, pulling their daughter closer. "Mom, I'm going with T and Sam, we're leaving." At my words they pulled away from the hug, their heads snapping up at me. "I cannot stay in this fucking murderous town any longer! I almost died, my best friend almost died, my boyfriend died, my father died! I cannot keep fucking doing this, I can't lose anybody else." Sam wrapped an arm around me as she squeezed my hand.
"You are not taking my daughter." Mom whisper yelled at them, me rolling my eyes, Sam knowing the reasons why I wanted to go.
My hands shook as I went with Richie and Tara to get into the car. I texted Aunt Sid's number. 'I'm only going to keep Tara and Sam safe. I don't trust Richie, I think he is the killer. I know who one of them is. It's Amber. She killed dad.' I pressed send and leant my shoulder on Tara's shoulder as she wiped away my tears.
Sam got in the car as Richie started driving, Sam sending us both a small smile. "Let's get this show on the fucking road." Richie shouted as he blasted the radio, Tara ran her good hand through my hair and gently kissed my head.
maybe this new start, would be better than the last.
