Luci's pov
It had been a few hours since mine and Kika's conversation in the bathroom and I was still thinking about it. I tried forgetting about it and just having fun with everyone but it was all that engulfed my brain. I looked over it him, a lot, but he was never looking back he was so engrossed in his own conversations. He was having fun. I started to think I was imagining this. I mean, if you had the slightest thought that someone that hot thought the same about you, you would take any small thing as a sign he did?
"Luci? Luc? Luciena?!" I was brought back from my thoughts by my best friend prodding me as she said my full name as if she weee my mother. "We're going to the bar, come, please." Olive almost begged in her slightly tipsy haze.
I nodded and followed her and the rest of the girls to the bar.
"8 vodka shots please." Kika asked the bartender who then handed her them on a tray soon after.
"3...2...1" we all said in time as we poured the liquid into our mouths and grimaced at the burning sensation as it travelled down our throats.
"Another?" Olive questioned, seeming rather eager to continue.
Kika seemed to agree with her as she asked the same bartender for another round and we, once again counted down and then shook at the taste that even after years of practice - never got better.
I never really knew how quickly alcohol kicked in, but this time it felt quick as within a few moments I already felt my body become to be numb from it working it's way through my system.
Obviously, the instant kick lead my eyes in his direction, expecting his back to be, yet again, turned. Although, surprisingly, I was caught by his eyes staring straight at me and, this time, they didn't quickly jolt away. Nor did mine. Our eyes locked for what felt like minutes. We just stared at each other, connected. I think I felt the corners of my mouth turn up as I saw his do the same.
We only broke the contact when I suddenly felt someone bump into me and knock me away. I turned to look at whoever rudely interrupted our moment and it was, of course, Olive, who somehow in the time between finishing my last shot and now had done what seemed to be three more and was now dancing her whole heart out to the poor bartender who looked concerned for her wellbeing.
"I think it's time we go." I announced to the crowd before Olive embarrassed herself any further.
"No." Olive demanded. "You haven't flirted with your Prince Charming. I'm waitinggggg" she slurred through almost every word although I was more focussed on the blood rushing to my cheeks knowing exactly who she was talking about.
"Now go." Olive pushed me, surprisingly hard, to the point I got lost in the crowd between the group of girls and the group of boys.
You see, any stone cold sober person would just go straight back to the girls and take home their horribly drunk friend to safety. But that wasn't me. So I stumbled my way through the maze of people to the somewhat familiar group of boys.
"Good evening gentlemen." I introduced looking directly at the one I was most interested in.
"Someone's had too much to drink." Pierre commented as they all laughed in my face at the fool I was making of my self.
All of them but him.
"Luci, you're drunk." Charles said softly, seeming concerned.
"Duh?" I pointed out waving my hand between the two of us.
"I need you to take me home. And Olive. I am not getting kidnapped by an Uber driver tonight." I pointed my finger to the point it hit his chest with a thud, which was surprisingly hard and most probably muscular, although I didn't have enough confidence to move my hand any further onto his chest and cover more of his surface area.
He sighed as he moved my finger away from him. "Get Olive. Now." He demanded. No laughter.
Was he mad? Did I say or do something wrong?
The shock of his reaction seemed to knock me sober as I came terribly aware of what I was doing and a flood of embarrassment washed over me.
"Yes, sorry." I replied sheepishly. His eyes quickly widened - as if he was shocked by my change in attitude but I turned away before I could make any further fool of myself and funnelled my way through the same maze of strangers I had previously. When I got back to them, the girls were still dancing as if no time had passed since I left.
"Olive come, we're leaving now." I had lost all emotions in my voice.
"No I don't want to-" Olive began but I cut her off.
"Now."
I think at this point, even though she was overwhelmingly drunk, she had grasped my tone and let me drag her back through the groups of dancing people.

The drive back home was silent. But this time it wasn't comfortable. It felt awkward, tense. The only time Charles spoke was when Olive admitted to thinking she was going to puke and he told her to do it in the bag that was under his seat if she would. Thankfully she was never sick.
"Thank you Charles. Sorry for any stress." I confessed as I stepped out of one door and went to help Olive out of the other.
He simply nodded and gave a half smile and me and Olive shamefully stumbled our way to our apartment.
"Did something happen?" Olive cautiously questioned.
"I seriously don't know what happened." I replied with honesty.
"I'm sorry for pushing you to him."
"It's not your fault Oli. I honestly don't know what happened. I don't think I'm ever going to have a chance with him..."
