Luci's pov
"Luci!!" I heard calling as I closed the door behind me. I saw my best friend, Olive, run in my direction, as I turned around and within an instant she threw herself into my arms. Not sparing an ounce of care for the bags that were previously hanging off me but were now on the floor after her quick attack for room in my arms.
"I missed you!" She squealed as she peeled herself away from me.
I had been away for three weeks visiting my family in Mexico over the summer break and Oli and I has been counting down the days until we would see each other again since the day I left.
"I'm so happy to be back!" I replied through my beaming smile.
Although I loved spending time with my family, especially as I didn't get to see them often, I truly felt an overwhelming sense of comfort and ease when walking through the doors of my small apartment and getting greeted by the best girl who I can call my best friend.
Olive threw herself back into my arms once again and stayed there for what felt like hours. I giggled as she squeezed me harder, showcasing her happiness to see me again.
"We need to go out. Tonight." She quickly stated as she finally removed her arms from my body for the second time. "To celebrate the girls being back together again"
I smiled at my best friends suggestion. She had always a lot more confident than me throughout our whole friendship, and she could never think of anything better than going out clubbing with her friends until the early hours of the morning. I, on the other hand, always laughed at her suggestions, although she seemed to always convince me it was a good idea.
"We start our work experience tomorrow Oli. Surely we don't want to risk being hungover on the first day." I mentioned as I felt my stomach turn in worry for starting our new job in less than 24 hours time on top of the possibility of being hungover.
Oli looked at me as though I had said the most ridiculous thing ever. "We will be fine Miss Ramirez. Let lose a bit!" She demands as she picks up my luggage and rolled her eyes at my apparent stupidity.
Olive continued to convince me on why clubbing the night before our first day of work was a good idea until I finally gave into her demands after 20 minutes of back and forth pros and cons.
I sighed at the blonde stood in front of me as I finally admitted defeat and she giggled as she clapped her hands like a young child who had just won a game against their sibling.
"But you have to let me borrow a dress." I demanded of my best friend. As she nodded and instantaneously changed her direction toward her bedroom to find me the perfect dress.*********
It took what felt like years to find the perfect dress until we finally settled on a silky red dress that had a small slit along the left thigh.
Olive decided on a similar dress in black and we quickly slipped them on and perfected our makeup and hair in the mirror.
"We. look. hot." Olive said as she curled the last strand of my dark brown hair. I laughed at her comment but obviously I agreed with her. We really did look good.
