ep 11: Let's go Westview

7th of July, 2023

Steve, Natasha and Sam left at 7 in the morning like Hill told them to do. Steve drove all the time, talking with Romanoff while Sam was resting on the back of the car. She never liked to get up early in the morning, she always was the kind of person who goes to sleep late and wakes up late too.

After a 2 hour ride, they arrived at Westview, and immediately saw the FBI tents where there already were agents investigating. Sam started to feel anxious, what if she didn't know what to do? What if she couldn't be useful, like at the compound? What if she never finds her place, at the S.H.I.E.L.D. nor on the Avengers, because she can't make herself useful?

Steve slammed the car's door, and called her.

Steve: Sam, you're coming?

Sam went out of her thoughts and took a deep breath.

Sam: Yeah, I'm coming.

Natasha noticed she looked ill at ease, but didn't say anything, not after what Sam told her the previous evening. Not after how she spoke to her. The spy was really hurt by what she said the evening before, but tried not to let it be noticeable and decided to focus on the mission.

The 3 of them went close to the FBI tents, to share information with the agents inside it, to know what was about to happen, and what to do.

The woman working there, a nice young lady called Darcy, went outside of the tent to talk with them. She told them they were trying to send someone inside the Hex to see what's going on inside, and they wanted to try with the sewer because they didn't have any other way to do it.

Sam came closer to Steve to ask him a question without looking ridiculous.

Sam, whispering: I don't quite see the problem, why can't we just walk inside it from here?

Steve looked at her like she was crazy.

Steve: Well, because there's a red hot wall between us and Westview, so no one can come closer.

Sam: What? What wall are you talking about, I don't see any red hot walls??

Steve, Natasha and Darcy looked at her in silence, before making a few eye contact.

Darcy: Come with me.

The woman looked surprised, she clearly didn't think Sam was trying to make fun of her, but she still didn't get it.

Sam followed her until they all 4 faced the city.

Darcy: What do you see?

Sam: Hum, I see a city, with a lot of houses and trees, well, like a city...

Darcy frowned her eyes and looked at Rogers and Romanoff, half worried, half surprised. Steve looked more like he wasn't clearly understanding what was happening, and Natasha essentially looked curious, and a bit surprised like showed her frowned eyebrows.

Sam: What? What's going on? What do YOU see?

Steve, Natasha and Darcy answered at the same time.

The 3 of them: A red wall.

Darcy: Don't you feel the heat?

Sam looked at her, perplexed.

Sam: No, I don't feel any weird heat.

Steve was sweating, Darcy was only wearing a tee shirt on top, no sweat, no jacket. Natasha took her own off.

Sam started to walk in front of her, where she supposed the wall was.

Natasha: STOP DON'T TOUCH IT.
