a. her brother shadow (who is an animus) accidentally enchanted her egg to lay dormant. it only hatched on the brightest night featured in the wof series. if you forgot about shadow, you can find him in the prologue :)

a. no, the pyrite in this story is a different character to the character from the wof series :) py is one of my close friend's oc's. unrelated, but this friend helped me to draft out the basic plotline. we created most of the characters together :D
