"Hey, kid. Lemme show you my gun collection."
Oh no. Here we go again.
"Dad, please. Don't scare away the one guy who actually likes me."
"Oh whatever, Cassie. You've had like 1 million boyfriends."
"DAD!! Stop! Aaron I'm so sorry!"
"It's okay I don't mind."
"Make sure you never, ever hurt my little girl. Ever."
"Sir, you're daughter is a big part in my life. Even without knowing her for very long, she is my pride and joy. I would never hurt this beautiful young lady."
"Thank you. I'm glad to here that. Remember. Young, just like you said. Don't drive to fast if you know what I mean."
I stood there. Wanting to hurt my dad. Why the heck would he say that.
"Dad, what the hell!"
"Sweetie, he is 3 years older than you. He could end up hurting you. Or try to get you to have sex. So I'm going to say that to be protective."
"Umm okay, Dad. We're gonna go now. Love you."
"Goodbye, sir. I'll see you soon. I'll take good care of your daughter."
"I know you will. Thank you."

The car ride was silent for a few minutes so I broke the silence.
"I'm really happy I get to spend the day with you. I am really sorry about my Dad."
"Me too. It's okay. Sorry if I was being quite when we first got in the car. It's just something bothering me."
"What is it?"
"It's nothing."
"Aaron please talk to me. I want to be here for you like you are for me."
"Well it's just.. Your dad. I'm scared of him. What if we started dating and then we did something. Your dad would kill me. What if I do hurt you. What if I go on tour and can't be with you and then we break up you know if we were dating. I just.. I can't imagine not being with you. I mean yeah I know it's been a short period of time knowing you, but what if we end up not together. Cassie I'm just scared."
"Aaron.. Please don't let my dad scare you. We will always be together. Even if we don't date I'll still love you. And if we dated and did something then that would be my choice and he would have to accept that. He can't get mad at my decisions. And tour. I don't know what we will do there. We will figure it out when the time comes. Okay? Everything will be okay. I promise."
Just great. Now I'm tearing up. He got me thinking. A lot. I mean now I know he wants to date me, but what if I loose him. I don't want to loose him. He's the best. Literally. I pull my hand out of his to wipe my tears.
"Oh, baby girl I'm sorry. Please don't cry."
"I'm okay, Aaron. Don't worry about me. I'm just afraid to make a mistake and loose you.."
"You could never do that. I will always like you. For you and not your mistakes. Screw mistakes. I'll always forgive you and I will always be here for you."

I know what your thinking. What the hell you two barely know each other. We actually have known each other for a couple months and I had waited for a week for our first date because that was the last time I saw him before he flew back to go see his sister.

"Aaron?"
"What is it?"
"I-I. I just wanted to say thanks for always being here for me.."
"Anytime. You mean the universe and more to me. I'm the luckiest guy to be able to have you."
"Thank you, Aaron. Truly."
"You are very welcome."

We pull up to a random place. I have no idea where we are. No idea at all. We get out of the car and he reaches for my hand and leads us up a tree.
"Aaron. It's so beautiful. How'd you get all of this up here?"
"I'm magic!"
We both laugh.
Lights everywhere. Blankets and pillows on the floor. A tiny buffet in the corner of the room. Apple cider in wine glasses with our names on them.
"Aaron? How do you spell my name?"
"C-A-S-S-I-E. Why?"
"The people at the company spelled it wrong."
"Wait. Seriously? How'd they spell it?"
"C-A-S-S-Y"
"Oh my god! I told them it was an I-E. I'm sorry!"
"It's okay. Really it's fine."
"I'll get you a new one okay?"
"You don't have to Aaron."
"But I want to."
And with that he pulls me into a kiss. We pull away as we see fireworks say "Will you please be my girlfriend, baby girl?"
