Didn't beta read this, we die like Golden
---------------------------------------------------------Green expected many things, but he did not expect the reaction that he got.
─ You want a what?! ─ Moss barked, glaring at his son as if he had gone mad.
─ A loan… Yeah, you always say I'm wasting space in the house and that I'm not helping you and dad, so… Help me leave? ─ Green was starting to see how stupid his request was just by repeating it out loud.
Celadon sighed loudly, rubbing his tired face. ─ Green do you have any idea how much money that would be? And how do you expect to pay it back? You don't have a job!
─ I can get a job! I'll make do, I always have! And I can get roommates or something, I don't need to do it all alone!
Moss was in between glaring at his son and pacing around the living room. ─ You - You are impossible!! ─ He growled. ─ A goddamn child who wants to somehow live on his own!
─ I'm not a child, I can take care of myself.
─ This is a very big ask, Green… We already have been doing everything we can and it's been very stressful. Seafoam has been in and out of the hospital, we have thousands in medical bills and medication, we both work two jobs to make ends meet, and you march in here begging for hand-outs. ─ Celadon shook his head softly. ─ This is too much even for you, Green…
The green figure closed his fists tightly. ─ I-... I never ask anything from you two. I'm always doing everything, I clean, I cook, I participate in whatever bullshit you throw at me. I have never asked you for a birthday cake, I have never begged you to be in any of my school concerts, I was always trying my fucking best to be the least amount of problems you had to deal with-
Moss stopped pacing for a second. ─ You're not gonna guilt us into paying your way out of here, Green. That's now how the world works!
Green gave a frustrated grunt, getting up from the couch and pacing away from his dads.
His heart hurt, his head was pounding and with every ounce of energy he still had in his body, Green just wanted out.
No matter the cost.
─ I'm going to leave… ─ He stated loud and clear. ─ And there's nothing you can do to stop me. You said you wanted me to take control of my own life and start making my own decisions. I'm moving out, with or without your help… I'm just asking for your help first…
Moss and Celadon didn't say anything, Moss just stormed off into the main bedroom and slammed the door.
Celadon kept sitting in his seat. ─ Where are you going to sleep?
─ In the damn park bench if I have to… ─ Green crossed his arms.
─ You understand what you're doing right? Because Moss won't let you back in the house if you leave like that.
─ He won't let me in the house regardless of what I do, I'm tired of this place dad, I'm tired of living here… You both said you wanted me to be more independent!
─ Yes, to find a job and maybe go to college, not to move out without a second thought!
Green sighed, looking at his feet. ─ I already said… I'm going, you two wanting me or not… I'm just asking if you're going to help me with it. Because if you do? Great. If you don't? Also great, I'll figure it out.
Celadon closed his eyes, rubbing his tired face. ─ I'll talk to your dad… Just please stay the night, and I'll have you an answer in the morning.
With a frustrated sigh, Green nodded, leaving his dad alone when he marched up to his room, closing the door behind himself.
Of course, Green wanted to feel confident and independent with his decision, at least, that’s what he knew he should feel, he was an adult and should act like one. He was supposed to feel ready.
If so, then why did his arms were trembling so much?
One deep breath didn’t make him feel better, so he tried again, and again, and again.
─ I’m leaving…─ Green repeated to himself, as if thinking about it would make him feel better. It obviously didn’t.
He held on to his phone tightly, looking at his own face reflected on the dark screen, he felt weak and stupid.
His hand lifted above his head but froze, he wanted to throw his phone at the wall as hard as he could, perhaps that would erase the image of weakness he saw in his mirrored image, but he couldn’t bring himself to do so.
Instead, he dropped it on the ground, and laid down on his bed.
Celadon marched up to his bedroom just a couple of minutes after Green had left. His husband lay on the bed with an arm covering his eyes.
─ You can’t storm off every time something doesn’t go the way you want it to go, you know?
A grunt came from Moss, who slowly took his arm away from his face. He watched as Celadon sat on the bed. ─ That kid is going to be the death of me, I’m telling you! Who does he think he is? I’m not wasting money just so he can feel like he's independent enough. It's not happening.
─ He’s not a child anymore, Moss… He won’t stick around forever, and if we don’t help him figure himself out, he’s going to be in very deep trouble when he tries to do it himself.
─ He's a child, a very fucking petulant and arrogant child.
─ Doesn't sound like anyone I know, at all. ─ Celadon jabbed quietly at his husband. ─ He's got as much of a hot head as you do.
Moss sighed, sitting up on the bed. ─ We don't have the money to buy him a fucking house!
─ We aren't buying him a house, Moss… We can just help him get a small place, and he will figure it out from there, he can have roommates, and he said he will be getting a job.
─ Wanting a job and getting one are two completely different things, Cel… What if he doesn't figure it out? He may end up in the streets somewhere!
Celadon sighed, looking down at his own thighs before turning and giving his husband a soft kiss on the temple. ─ I know my son well, he will figure it out… And if we don't help him now, he will do it on his own… And I don't want to lose my kid, Moss…
─ You can't kiss me during serious discussion, that's bribery. ─ Moss huffed, but didn't fight the next few kisses at his temple.
─ Is it at least working? ─ Celadon asked, receiving a reluctant nod from his husband.
─ Where are we cutting the money from?
─ We will figure it out, don’t worry. ─ Celadon sighed, looking down once more. ─ I’ll go talk to Green.
