Chapter 2 What is Royal Rose really

By the time Twilight got to Rarity's house to pick up her and the foal, Rarity had dressed Royal Rose in about a hundred different dresses. Twilight knocked on the door.

"Coming," Rarity said as she walked  from Royal Rose to the door to let in Twilight.

Twilight peeked in and saw Royal Rose standing behind Rarity in a sparkling golden gown with three glittery red roses on her head. Royal Rose look so cute, that she could melt your heart.

"Time to see Zecora, Rarity," Twilight said as she focused now on the white unicorn.

"Already, but Twilight I was going to make a new dress for Royal Rose that matches her rose hair," Rarity complained. 

" Rarity we don't have time we need to find out what she is," Twilight said as she levitated the filly and took the dress off her and setting down besides herself.

"Lets go Rarity," Twilight said as she turned with the filly in her magic again.

Rarity ran after her and soon they were upon Zecora's hut in the Everfree Forest. Twilight knocked on  the door.

"Come in. Oh Twilight Sparkle where have you been," Zecora said as Twilight entered the zebra's hut.

"Hi Zecora. We've come to ask you what kind of pony she is," Twilight said as she stepped aside to let Zecora see Royal Rose.

Zecora's stripes turned white as her coat when she saw Royal Rose.

"Zecora," Twilight said startled.

"Oh dear what have we here," Zecora managed to say.

"Do you know what she is," Twilight asked the now very jumpy zebra.

"I do not know for certain, but my friend can help you with your burden," Zecora said as she stood straight and looked at Twilight.

Twilight looked at the zebra with an confused expression as she ran through the door way of the hut without another word.

"I guess we have to stay here for a little bit," Rarity said as she turned towards Twilight.

"Yeah, just hope Zecora doesn't take too long," Twilight added.

So for an hour or so Twilight, Rarity, And Royal Rose sat in Zecora's hut mainly chatting, except Royal Rose didn't say much.

Zecora opened the door of the hut, and Twilight looked up. During the time of Zecora's absence, Royal Rose fallen asleep sitting next to Rarity while the two adult unicorns talked, but she was now awake but still a bit drowsy from her nap. Zecora motioned for Twilight to come outside, so Twilight did and found herself starring at a pair of pony legs. She looked up to find a very strange pony starring right back at her.

"Who are you," Twilight said as she backed up startled by the strange tall pony.

"Hello,  i'am Kenya," said the pony in a similar accent to Zecora's but without rhyming.

"What are you," Twilight asked as she settled down.

"I'am a giraffe. my kind is not common in these parts," answered Kenya.

"Zecora told me you have a problem with an unknown pony species," Kenya asked Twilight as she tried to peek in the house.

"Yes, she's in Zecora's house," Twilight said as she turned and walked towards the entrance of the hut.

Twilight looked at Kenya and studied her. The mares coat was yellow with brown spots. Her eyes were a vine green. Kenya also had two horns sticking out of her head Twilight didn't know really anything on giraffes so she didn't know if they were magic or not. She wore light brown cloth around her legs. She also had a necklace with an assortment of teeth on it from various creatures. That made Twilight a little nervous.

Kenya looked at Royal Rose but didn't seem as startled by the filly as Zecora had been.

"Looks like you have a big problem here," Kenya said as she held her gaze on the white and pink filly.

"What do you mean," Twilight asked.

"She's a mantis pony," Kenya answered bleakly.

"What's that," Rarity asked as she looked cross eyed at the giraffe.

"A mantis pony is one of the most secretive and dangerous pony...," Kenya began before Rarity cut her off.

"Royal Rose is not dangerous at all," Rarity exclaimed as she hugged the filly.

"She may not be but her parents are...........," Kenya added.
