Thor and I led our group down various halls, all of us keeping our ears perked to hear something. Anything, really. My mind searched for other active mind but I couldn't locate any. Thanos could be hiding them from me like Loki hid me from him.

We came to a staircase that led down.

Thor and I looked sideways at each other before I pulled out a flashlight out of my utility belt. Turning it on, I descended the staircase. It was big enough for the broad shouldered men to fit between the wall but so narrow that we had to go down one by one.

The wall looked slimy and shiny when I flashed the light on it. I was about to move my flashlight to show the steps but something caught my attention. There was a crack in the wall, not a crack like 'this is an old building' crack. It was more like a 'there something here and it was intentional' crack.

"Thor?" I asked.

"What is it?"

"Is it possible that this place has traps in it?"

"It is possible."

Crap. The last thing I need is to play Indiana Jones and run away from a boulder.

"Cap?" I spoke into my communicator, pressing the button on my ear.

"What's wrong?" Came his worried voice.

"The building is booby-trapped. Be careful. Look for intentional cracks in walls and watch your step." I informed them as we kept walking, making sure where I stepped was okay.

"Got it. Thanks." he responded.

"And don't let Tony pull anything out of the wall like a torch. He can be a child sometimes."

"I am not!" Tony protested while Steve laughed.

"I'll keep an eye on him."

After we finally got to the bottom of the staircase I found out what this lower level was for. What's usually the lowest level of a castle.

The dungeons.

"Well, this is reassuring." I deadpanned as the last of my friends entered the giant room.

Cells lined the walls. Inside the cells were chains that were attached to the back wall.

"Do you think they could be down here?" Fandral asked.

"Where else would you keep prisoners?" Sif countered his question with another question.

Groaning echoed through the room. I turned to the group behind me.

"I don't suppose that was any of you."

They shook their heads and my heart jumped. Running where I thought the sound came from, my feet stopped when I rounded the corner.

Loki was chained against the wall. His arms were raised above his head as he sat with his back leaned on the wall and his head hanging down.

I rushed over to him.

"Loki." I choked back tears as I took in his appearance.

His shirt was no longer on his body, instead there were cuts and bruises, some that looked fresh and some that looked old. My fingers found a pulse in his neck.

How can he be like this already? He was taken yesterday.

Just imagine Mikey.

The thought made my blood run cold as the others rounded the corner.

"Loki!" Thor shouted, kneeling on the other side of Loki as I worked at picking the locks on the cuffed chains.

Thor picked him up as I pressed a finger to my ear.
