*Angela's POV*
Bright lights.
That's what I woke up to. Not like 'you just woke up so even the sun is out to get you' lights. It's the alarmingly, bright hospital fluorescent lights that could put the most optimistic person in the universe in a bad mood.
A groan from my mouth echoed through the empty room. My neck crack pleasantly as I moved it in a circular motion. Surveying the room, I realized I was alone. And tied to a chair. Great.
The room was very small with grey walls. It reminded me of an interrogation room in those cop shows, but without the one way glass and table. If there were any cameras I couldn't see them but I knew not to underestimate anyone who could break into the Tower without anyone knowing.
What if Thanos finally got to me?
The pure thought made my breathing become deep. Sure my mind was one thing, but out in the real world where he could-
NO! Don't think like that, Angela!
Closing my eyes, I focused on evening my breathing.
'Don't show weakness. You need to get out!' That voice in my head reminded me, thankfully.
My fingers rubbed my wrist, trying to figure out what was restraining me. Not rope. Not tape.
Zip ties!
What is an intergalactic villain doing with zip ties? Why not magic like Loki could do?
Focusing my mind on the zip ties around my wrists, I thought about the little clips that could release me. When I imagined them breaking I felt them do the same, becoming loose enough for me to slid them off.
Standing up, I felt the rest of my muscles stretch and joint crack. How long had I been out? Maybe it was the chair.
The bandage was still wrapped out my arm, where Laufey grabbed me. It wasn't going anywhere anytime soon, but Dad made me keep it on so it would heal properly. Thank you, Loki. He was the one who had heal me, I found out later. Takes a Frost Giant to heal the damage of another Frost Giant.
Okay, let's get out of here.
My first reaction was to move towards the door, but there was no handle. Of course it wasn't that easy. It would be simple to just knock the door off of its hinges but that would make too much sound. Attracting attention to myself while escaping was probably not the smartest idea.
Then, as if God heard my distress, a set of footsteps came down the hall outside and stopped just out the door.
'Come on, open it. Open the door!' I mentally taunted my unknown victim.
Finally the door opened and the uniformed person looked up at me with shock. I could see my smug face in the reflection of his sunglasses as I threw him against the wall outside in the hallway. Before he could make a move his gun was in my hands. I knocked him out with the butt of the gun before dragging him into the room I was locked in.
Shutting the door behind me, I looked left, then right. My gut said right so I went that way. Steve said to follow my instinct. That it was the best thing I had in a fight. A couple of hallways later and I still saw no sign of anyone knowing I had escaped.
The feeling of relief was short lived. Red lights flashed and sirens blared. The prisoner had escaped. And she happened to be me. With a surge of adrenaline, I pushed forward and into a closet as footsteps vastly approached. It might be cowardly to hide in a closet but, hey, I was suppose to be running for my life. When I get back to Stark Tower I could bring the team here to investagate. Even if they evacuate they might just leave clues behind.
