Chapter 9:

Third Person's POV

Angela started to stir in her bed as the sun flooded in through the windows. She groaned while stretching out on the bed. Her eyes suddenly popped open when she realized what today was. She looked at the clock on her bedside table that read 8 o' clock and jumped out of bed.

Quickly, she grabbed some clothes and took a shower. While stepping out of the shower, Angela was listing the order to cook the food when she noticed her reflection in the giant mirror. Unlike every other morning, Angela had no bruises or cuts.

She would usually wake up with new ones that healed throughout the day. Remembering last night, she recalled not being able to sleep, talking to Loki, then going to bed.

No nightmares. Angela told herself.

Her mouth formed into a huge smile as she finished getting dressed. She ran upstairs, not bothering with the elevator.

She found Bruce, Tony, Steve, and Natasha already up.

"Someone's up early." Tony greeted.

"It's Thanksgiving and the parade is going to be on soon." Angela shrugged, grabbing an apple out of the bowl of fruit.

"How did you sleep?" Steve asked and the others listened for her response.

"Good. Until I woke up," Their expressions turned grim before Angela continued. "Then I was great. I didn't have any nightmares and that means, no cuts or bruises."

"That's great." Bruce smiled.

He was always concerned about her wellbeing, so was everyone else.

"Does that mean you won't have them anymore since someone was with you?" Steve asked.

Angela crunched on her apple as she considered the question.

"I think it means that I got lucky." Angela answered after swallowing.

Who knows, maybe she would have some tonight, maybe not. The only thing she did know is that last she was completely at peace after her conversation with Loki and a cup of tea. It also could have been that Peter was with her the entire night, seeing as he was the one she has trusted the longest out of everyone.

"Did you do anything differently last night that you usually don't?" Natasha asked, as if she could read Angela's thoughts.

"Well, I couldn't sleep so I made myself some tea. Then Loki heard me and came in to have a cup with me. We talked for a bit then went back to bed." Angela summed up for them before biting into the apple in her hand.

"Could have been the tea. It's usually able to calm people down." Bruce concluded.

Or it could have been Loki. Angela heard a voice say.

Turning around, she noticed Natasha smiling smugly. Natasha had thought is so loud that Angela picked it up.

Shut up. Angela shot at her, causing Natasha's smile to grow.

I didn't say anything. Natasha replied sassily.

The men watched as Angela silently glared at Natasha, who was smiling knowingly. Steve and Tony turned to Bruce for an explanation, but he merely shrugged his shoulders in confusion.

Just then, Loki and Thor came into the room, fully dressed in their 'Midgardian clothing,' as they like to put it.

Speaking of the devil. Natasha thought.

He's not the devil. And I thought you weren't speaking. Angela gave one last death glare before turning to the brothers.

"Good morning." she greeted.
