James' POV:

His leg was bitten by Remus. This wasn't supposed to happen! I heard Snape's yell as Moony bit his leg.

A red light came from Snape and Remus, I heard Moony whimper loudly as Snape tried to get away, our trio came closer to watch the show.

I heard Sirius' dog form let out some strangled sound, probably laughter. Remus recovered from the pain and pursued after Snape again.

Surely Snape would use that spell again to fend Remus off, surely.

Sirius turned back into his human form and took out his wand pointing it at Snape. "Expiliarmus." He whispered, a smile going ear to ear was plastered on his face. I also couldn't help but smile as I watched my enemy's wand fly away.

We wanted for Snape to feel pain, but not death. We came closer so that we were right behind Remus. Snivellus was trying his hardest not to get bitten by Moony's snout which was aiming at his head, Remus raised one of his hands (or whatever you call them) penetrating everything in a horizontal line, Snape's chest, his waist, and some of the Slytherin's thigh.

A blood curtling scream echoed through the night, you could almost see all of Snape's insides, his ribs, and some organs were showing themselves.

I was scared, what if Snape died? I can just run to the professors in time right? I thought, panic began to overflow within.

I ran towards the castle which had all of its lights turned off. Sirius looked at me with wide eyes, he also didn't think this would occur.

I ran towards the gargoyle, turning back into my human form half of the way, "Lemon Sherbets!" I snapped at the gargoyle that stepped away seeing as I was in a hurry.

I ran up the spiral stairs, busting the door open, "Professor Dumbledore!" I yelled, a door opened revealing Dumbledore in his usual robes, my breathing was a shallow pant, I didn't want to get expelled for murder.

"It's Snape, professor... and Remus..." I said, my voice quivery as I gasped for air, Dumbledore's eyes had a look of understanding which was a cue for me to run back to the scene.

I ran again, turning into a stag once I came down the stairs. Another scream. I sped up my pace even more, passing many doors and going down many stairs because I took a different path.

There they were, Remus was on top of Snape with a bloody snout, the claws were also covered in crimson blood.

I came closer trying to fend off Remus using my antlers, but he almost bit me. Sirius was loudly barking, and I saw Peter somewhere in Moony's fur.

Luckily, the professors came to assist the situation, Remus was about to bite Snape again but McGonagall yelled, "Stupefy," Paralysing the wolf, it still tried to bite but red ropes came out of the ground securing him.

Madam Pomfrey rushed to tend to Snape's wounds.

McGonagall looked murderous as she glared at our group. We all turned back into human forms, I looked at Snape, who now wasn't blocked by Remus. I almost threw up on the spot, his shoulder was missing, the only thing that was there was a bloody mess, the wound going through half his body had widened, his ribs were now showing his lungs that were expanding slowly, and a heart that beat at an unstable rhythm, every other internal organ that I couldn't list also greeted me, he had a wound going under his eye and one that went at the start of his jaw, showing a bloody bone, and some of his neck, his leg had bloody claw like injuries, half of the same leg was also bitten off.

It was a miracle that he was still alive, much less breathing. Madam Pomfrey hastily tried to close the wounds so that they wouldn't bleed so much, and with the help of some other professors, Snape was sent to the Hospital wing.

I looked over at Sirius, who had a pale face and a blank look, and then at Peter who was also pale but had a look of pure horror on his face instead of it being just blank. "Follow me," Dumbledore said, anger was hinted in his voice.

We did, there was no hesitation in it. Flitwick was left with Remus who was writhing in the binds.

We went towards the headmaster's office, not a word was exchanged between us. "Sit." Dumbledore said, he took a seat behind his desk, 3 suddenly were there, we each took one. McGonagall stood by Dumbledore, "Do you know how severe this was?" He began, we said nothing in response, "Mr. Snape could've died." Dumbledore stated again, I was again hit by a wave of nausea as I remembered Snape's state.

"You won't tell anything about this to anyone. You'll get detention for the next month, twice a week. And I'll take away 50 points from each of you. Understood?"

Dumbledore said grimly, we all nodded our heads hastily. "I will also contact your parents." I was about to say something but swallowed it. "You're dismissed." He finally said after a moment of silence.

We went out of the office with a pair of bright blue and dark brown eyes drilling into our backs. Once we were far from the gargoyle Sirius spoke up,

"Imagine if you didn't call the teachers and what would Remus think about himself tomorrow." His voice was trembling. Peter had a glassy look in his eyes, he had denied the prank but Sirius and I insisted.

I felt bad for the poor guy, I owed him an apology. I also owed an apology to Snape, so did Sirius and Peter, and Remus. We had done that as just a fun prank, which it wasn't fun for Snape or any of them. We were in front of the fat lady, "Password?" She asked, eyeing us in disgust, the same feeling that was swirling within my stomach. Disgust at myself. Peter finally got out of the trance and murmured the password, the portrait hole swung open and we crawled in.

It was empty in the common room, I thought that everyone would be up from the screams that Snape made but surprisingly no one was awake. We went into our dormitory and changed. There were no words, just a tensed silence. I went to sleep with nightmares haunting me.
