The next morning... Severus' POV:
After I walked out of the dormitories and the common room I heard... yells? An argument? This early in the morning was not the time. With a slow pace I made my was to the Great Hall, by the chance of 'luck' (something that I'd given up on believing) I saw...
Lucius Malfoy, Peter Pettigrew, and Remus Lupin?!
Towering over the two other Marauders, a crowd was surrounding the rare sight. Gasps and words were heard throughout the hall, it was a surprise McGonagall hasn't appeared to stop the ruckus.
I got closer to hear what the unintelligible yelling was about. It was Lupin yelling the the two. "—You dull idiots! I thought you've changed your ways, but no! Of course not!" The two looked pained as Lucius glared them down.
I subconsciously smirked. I went to the center of the scene, no-one said anything as I passed through the queue.
"Lucius." I whispered, he flinched to look back at me,
"What's going on?" -Me.
"Trying to get them to not chase after you." -Lucius.
"Since when have you cared so much?" -Me.
The answer was a slight shake of the head and a shrug.Potter's hazel eyes had spotted me. His facial expression changed from a frown to a scowl. Lupin was inaudibly muttering something to them. "Remus it isn't my fault he's such a git! I mean look at him! He's standing there with that smug look on his face!" Potter snapped. Lupin finally seemed to notice my presence.
"Potter have you ever heard of payback? Vengeance? Revenge? Retribution? Do those words set alight a spark within your dull witted mind? At least I have the human decency not to torment and torture someone!" I hissed, Black's stormy, grey eyes traveled to me.
"At least we have parents!" Potter blurted.
I seemed to begin to shake. So he knew. The bastard knew that my parents were no longer in this world. I wasn't really concerned if he'd yelled out something about me not having a father, I didn't care about Tobias anyways. But his filthy mouth didn't need to remind me that I'd lost my beloved mother.
"What are you going to go cry to your mo-"
A non-verbal Sectumsempra grazed his shoulder. My hands were shaking too hard from uncontrollable rage and I had missed. Crimson was now profusely flowing onto his black robes, making them a dark red."Shut it Potter! I thought you had bordered the imbecilic, yet it seems like you're fucking waterboarding yourself in it! You know nothing of loss nor grief you bastard!" I lunged at him to pounce, but people were holding me back, of course it wasn't hard for them since I was as light and as thin as a quill but I still fought their harsh grasps.
"Let me go! Unhand me this instant!" I yelled, yet they were still pushing me back from reaching Potter, who was trying to stop the blood flow from the injury on his shoulder.
Black was looking with satisfaction at Potter, which increased my irritation. I squirmed and writhed within the people's grips, my wrists felt raw from someone holding them. My wand had dropped on the floor and was completely forgotten about, all I wanted is for Potter to feel my wrath.
Unluckily, Dumbledore appeared out of nowhere. "What is going on?!" His voice boomed. He studied the predicament, "Him professor! Sniv-Snape, is trying to attack me!" Potter said, faking a look of fear when he looked over to me. Dumbledore's bright blue eyes examined me as I still kept berserkly trying to lunge at the scatterbrained dimbo.
"Potter! You mocked my parents' deaths!" I shouted out, he made an innocent face. Rage was now swallowing everything in me. "Is this true Mr.Potter?" Dumbledore asked, veering his head away from em to look at Potter.
Students were now struggling to hold me back as I bucked their grasps, I hissed at the pain in my wrists. "No Professor, I didn't know his parents were dead. It wan an accident, I didn't mean to, I'm trying to be better since... you know what." Potter responded. It was obvious he was hinting at the incident, but a look of confusion flashed across people's faces.
Black seemed to understand, so did Lupin, Pettigrew, and Dumbledore himself.
"That's such disinformation Potter! You're perfectly aware!" I snapped. Other professors came into the Great Hall to watch. Potter's face seemed to put on a mask of innocence that was nonexistent inside of him. He was a monster, and currently a charlatan.
"I'm not! I wouldn't say it if I knew! Right Sirius? We didn't know!" Potter asked, beginning to rely upon his flea-infested friend.
"Yeah! None of us knew! I'm sure no one in the Great Hall was even aware!" Black ushered, the Gryffindors seemed to support them, so did the Hufflepuffs after a moment. Well damn. Of course nothing would be helped again, he probably just punished those tenacious Marauders just to keep his reputation and so that other soul would know.
I also got punished. With silence.
"His words are deceptions!" I strangled out through gritted teeth. Dumbledore again averted his gaze towards me. It was as if he was watching a tennis match. "Both of you. Follow me." He finally stated.
One person who was tightly holding onto my wrists said: "Calm down and we'll let you go." I swallowed and stopped tensing against the grasps. They let me go. I picked up my wand from the floor and went after Dumbledore.
I rubbed at my raw wrists to calm the pain. Potter was eyeing me with pride, even though his actions had achieved nothing. The asshole.
We turned into an empty classroom, dust lined every wall and desks were upturned everywhere about. Dumbledore turned towards us. "Explain to me what happened." He didn't seem to even have a hint of anger in his voice, and even if he did, then it was well disguised.
My Legilimency hadn't proven yet to get so strong, I could evade someone's mind, yet since the Lupin incident it's gotten funky. A jumble of my emotions and the person's mixed, making some weird concoction that mixed with both minds. I have tried it once, but the results weren't great. I wouldn't do it until I could get it under control again.
I rubbed my shoulder since it began to ache. Potter began: "So me and Sirius were just talking, Remus was scolding us like always—"
"Potter, shut up. You haven't been on good terms with Lupin for quite a while now, or else him and Pettigrew wouldn't apologise to me." I cut off, he shot me a noxious glare."But yes, Lupin was scolding you about what had happened yesterday when Black had punched me and you threw those glitter bombs at me and Annabelle Berette." I completed, Dumbledore arched a brow at Potter.
"When I came to see what happened, since seeing Lupin scold Potter and Black in public isn't quite the usual sight. The two began insulting me, so I insulted them back in self defense, then Potter said, and I quote, 'At least I have parents'—" I was cut off by Dumbledore now.
"Yet Mr. Snape, how does that prove that he knew of the situation with your deceased parents?" My fists clenched tightly at those words. "Never-mind, this argument is worthless. Professor you can punish me all you want. At this point I've no faith that you care about anyone who has been driven into a corner by life. I await your decision and please hurry with it since I've better things to do." I said calmly.
The old man raised his eyebrows at me. "What is the spell you used on Mr. Potter?" "I'd rather not specify." I responded, he nodded, "Well then Mr. Potter, go to the Hospital wing to get your wound treated. Meanwhile Mr. Snape, I'll take away 20 points from Slytherin for using an unknown spell on Mr. Potter, and another 20 for trying to attack him." Potter looked self-satisfied. While I just shrugged, "You may go." Dumbledore announced.
A/N: Yes, Dumbledore's a bitch here, fuck him 😠.
