Chapter 24 - Emotions

At this point Ivy was hugging Ian and whispering to him that she will always be here for him.

I have been looking at the boy since I walked in. There's this familiarity in the boy that I couldn't place but hearing the mother's name stroke a cord. What's going on here? I searched for her but couldn't find her.  Could he be my son?

She's my cousin and Ian's mum. Tony answered with a confused face.

What? And She's in heaven which means.....

She died after giving birth to Ian due to complications. Tony said in a low tone so as to not alert Ian. 

This explains why I couldn't find her but I asked her close friends. Right.. I never met any of her family because she avoided it anytime I ask her.

I need to have a private conversation with Tony first.

Babe, can you take Ian with you. You can go home or shopping, take the car too I need to discuss with Tony. It's very important.
Ian, would you like to go with Ivy? You both can do whatever you want to do. Take this... I handed my card to Ian because I know Ivy wouldn't take it.

Yayyy... Ian screamed ... Tony is still confused and Ivy wanted to say something but didn't. She got up and took Ian, kissing me on the lips, took the car key and left.

I turned to Tony and started explaining the whole thing with my ex to him. After explaining, I brought my phone and showed him her picture that I had. Tony confirmed, she's her cousin and went ahead to tell me how she got custody of Ian. It was strange to him that they were not close yet she left the baby for him. It down on us that she never wanted to be found. I cried knowing that I searched so much about Ian yet fate had a way of bringing us together through Ivy. What would I ever do without that woman.

It was odd but I had to make sure, so I asked Tony if she ever loved my Girl and he stupidly said YES. If not that he's my son's uncle, I would have punched him very hard.

Wow. All of a sudden, I have a son. I would have a lot to explain to Ivy. I hope she understands. Ian already liked her but then one thing kept bugging me.

It's as if Tony knows what's going through my mind for he said...

Calm down man. I get it's a lot to take in, in a day.  And I love Ivy but as a brother/best friend. Thank your stars I'm not into women, I would have taken her away from you. And it's ok if you wish to have a DNA done. I mean Ian took more of his mother features and maybe few features from you but hearing your story, we need to confirm too. I will arrange for it.

So what do you intend to do from here? I mean Ivy and then once we confirms Ian is truly yours. Tony asked.

I don't know. I will have to talk with Ivy first and Ian too.

It's ok. I would have given Ian out as a baby but the letter asked me not to or even send him to her family. The only thing I could do is raise him myself. But here we are, You can take him, I mean adopt him back, after all he's your son. I will tell my mum about the situation too, she will definitely miss her grandson. Tony said.

I won't just take Ian like that, I will like to see your mum too. Ian will start with sleepover before moving in... I mean everything is just moving so fast. One minute, I was dragging Ivy with Ian and the next minute Ian is likely to be my son. It's all fucking crazy...

Tony tapped my shoulder gently in an understanding manner.

We talked for  few more minutes before we decided to head out. Ivy is with my car so Tony offered to drop me wherever I need to be but I declined. He called ivy to take Ian home with her that he will come by the house to pick him up later.
