-Two weeks later-
Katie's pov.I'm sitting between Jack and Matthew on the front porch, they're all talking about their next tour and where they'll be stopping. Shawn and I haven't hung out since he felt the marks on my arms, and honestly he hasn't even talked to me.
Matthew has talked to me some, but Jack came upstairs the night he stayed and cuddled with me, and they got into a big argument, so we haven't been speaking very often and he hasn't stayed the night since. Jack won't let him.
Cameron stand up and says, "I'll be back in a few minutes, I'm gonna go to the kitchen and find something to eat."
Everyone nods and continues on with their conversations as my phone buzzes in my hand. It's Cam, telling me to come inside so we can talk. I lock my phone back, stand up, and walk inside.
He's standing in the kitchen leaning against the counter when I open the door and walk in. He looks up and smiles softly at me saying, "Hey, so uh, I need to tell you something," as he reaches for one of my hands, taking it into his. "I really, really like you. I know this might not be the best time for this but it's true. I have for a long time and that's why I've always stayed silent around the guys when they'd say something mean to you, and I know that I haven't defended you. I'm sorry that I haven't. I just-"
He's cut off by Hayes walking into the room, looking at the both of us standing there with a confused expression.
"Did you really just do that, after what I told you? This is a joke right, Cameron?" Hayes' facial expression shows that he's hurt and pissed. I have honestly never been so confused before. "I've liked her for such along time, and I had this whole plan to ask her to be mine and you do this after I told you about it? What kind of friend does that?" He moves closer to Cam and I start to back up, not really knowing what to expect, knowing how Hayes is when he's mad.
Cam stands there and laughs dryly, saying, "You really think she'd give you a chance after the way you've treated her? You've always been a dick to her, even when she wasn't around you always made some sort of comment about her." He steps closer towards Hayes.
Hayes stays quiet for a minute before lunging at Cam, punching him in the jaw. Cam stumbles back and laughs angerly, rubbing his face before he walks towards Hayes and punches him back. I scream for Jack and the guys run inside as they begin fighting. I start crying, panicking slightly as they're ripped away from each other. By this time, Hayes has a bloody nose and Cameron's mouth is bleeding, and he spits blood into the sink. They're pulled away from each other and put into separate rooms as I wipe my face, stressed and highly anxious about what had just happened and the reasons that it happened.
I grab my keys and rush outside to my car, getting in and starting it before speeding off. I end up going to the gas station about two blocks away from my house just to get away from the drama and what had just happened when an ambulance rushes by, going down and turning on my street. Confused, I head towards my house once again only to see it parked in my driveway, the gurney being wheeled through the gate into the backyard. I park on the curb and rush in behind them to see what had happened.
Cameron is crying as Hayes is being lifted up and placed on the gurney, unconscious. A wave of panic hits me as I run up to Jack who's pacing, asking, "What the hell happened?" Confused and worried.
He sighs and says, "We tried to get them to talk things out and Cam ended up punching Hayes again and it knocked him out, and he won't wake up." He bites his lip and rubs his chin, which is what he's always done when his anxiety starts to get bad.
I close my eyes and try to calm myself a little before telling them that I'll ride in the ambulance and they meet us at the hospital. They all nod and go get their keys as I fallow the paramedics and get into the back of the ambulance with them, sitting on the side as they start an IV on Hayes. I grab his hand, sighing and leaning closer to him whispering, "God damn Hayes, you always do something like this," with a slight smile on my head, squeezing his hand. I know he's gonna be okay, this isn't the first time someone has knocked him out this way.
We arrive at the hospital and he's admitted to the ER, then finally starts to wake up as everyone else starts to arrive. He rubs his head and groans, I roll my eyes and say, "Long time, no see," and he opens his eyes seeing me. He smiles a bit and grimaces, groaning again. He sits up and looks around, clearly confused as he asks, "How'd I end up here?"
"Well for starters, you punched Cameron in my kitchen. Then everyone wanted you and him to talk things out on the patio and he ended up punching you so hard that he knocked you out and now we're here," I say nonchalantly as if it's no big deal. He nods, seemingly starting to remember everything. I sit on the edge of his bed, shaking my head and saying, "What am I gonna do with you Benjamin?" as I laugh lightly.
He laughs and says, "Well you could just date me, ya know," as he shrugs. I shrug back and lay down next to him, and he puts his arm around me letting me lean into him.
I whine, "I'm tired but the guys are in the waiting room and they're gonna come in here and be loud so I can't sleep," making him chuckle.
"I'll make sure they stay quiet, okay?" He says softly as I lay my head on his chest and close my eyes, nodding.
I slowly drift off to sleep laying on him.
