Chapter 5: Old Friend, New Friend

The next day rolled around I was awakened by my cellphone ringing, I rolled over and picked it up "Hello?" I answered. The voice that came over the phone made my tummy flutter "Good Morning beautiful." Dwyatt replied in a cheery tone, I sat up and rubbed my eyes and pinched the base of my nose between my eyes "Do you realize it's 5 in the morning?" I said in an irritated tone he chuckles and replies "The early bird gets the worm, I just wanted to let you know that I am going to go have a little chat with Drewcifer this morning." I inhaled and sighed "You couldn't have texted me?" I asked picking out clothes and put the phone on speaker. "Nope this couldn't wait, but I'll let you go," he said soon hanging up. I shook my head pulling out a pair of ripped jeans and a tank top and did my morning routine as usual and made my way downstairs to my dad drinking his coffee. "Hey dad I think it's time I get my own place, I am 25 now and it's bout time you started dating again." I looked to him as I got my coffee and sat down at the table, he looked at me and sipped his coffee and set it down. "Okay, we can go looking today before you go to HQ I know a few places you might like." He replied with a smile, I sipped my coffee confused at first but kept my thoughts to myself and nodded "Sounds good." I said with a smile. On the other side of the city, Dwyatt had made his way to Drewcifers and was having a little chat. "You know I don't like drama Drewcifer." Dwyatt said angrily "Sir I just wanted to Amp it up." He replied looking down Dwyatt slammed his hand on the table "No! You look at me! Don't ever pull a stunt like this again, if you do I will report to your father and he can handle you!" Dwyatt yelled as Drewcifer coward down "Yes sir! I won't do it again." He replied as Dwyatt walked away "Good and in return, you need to prove yourself to me I will consider getting you, new suppliers, not Mileena's." Dwyatt said leaving Drewcifers to his thoughts. The hours had passed my dad and I found the perfect place for me to move into and I made my way to HQ. "About time you made it in." Said Damiar as he tussled my hair. I laughed "I was looking for my own place, so what'd I miss?" I asked looking around, "Rumor has it that there is a new gang coming to our city." Said August as his arm wrapped around my shoulder, "Well let's hope they don't think they can just waltz into our city and overrun us." I replied walking with them, "I don't think anyone can match your badassery." Said Leo as we all laughed, We had done our patrols and deliveries my dad had stopped and told us he organized a cookout and the guys were invited only the main group could make because everyone else had to be home as the day come to an end we all headed over to my dads. "Everything smells so good dad!" I said walking through the back gate, "Thanks it's a special night." He replied flipping the ribs on the grill when a familiar voice yelled behind me "Damn your dad wasn't lying!". I turn around to see my old roommate from overseas. " Look what the cat dragged in!" I laughed hugging him, "How did you get here?" I asked pulling away "Your dad flew me in." He explained as I look back at everyone "Guys this is Mark my old roommate from overseas, Mark this is August, Damiar, and Leo," I said they all greeted him willing with a handshake as my dad ask them to help him bring out everything else, with that they walked inside and brought out everything. "Oh my Gosh I can't believe you're here, how are you?" I asked placing my hands on my hips. "You'd know if you would answer my calls and email." He said placing his hands in his jean pockets disappointed. "I'm just busy is all." I proclaimed looking around "Ah I suppose I can forgive you, so are you seeing anyone?" He asked as our eyes met. "It's complicated," I replied stepping a few feet away as he became sad at my response. "Uncomplicate it, Leena." He said walking closer, "It isn't that easy Mark," I replied, "Go on at least one date with me then." He asked almost begging, I shook my head and sighed "Fine." I look down as he got excited, "You won't regret it I promise, tomorrow night at 7." He said as the guys and my dad finished bringing everything out. The night went well we ate and sat by the fire telling stories and catching up. I want to explain to you who Mark is when I was overseas for school he and I met and became roommates, once we got to know one another we sort of had a fling back when I was doing all my qualifications to become an entrepreneur so that I could do what was best to do good by my father but we stopped seeing each other when I moved back home and here we are. Now that you're all caught up the night ended once everyone had found a room to fall asleep in due to being too intoxicated and full to try and go home. Mark had left though he felt best going back to his hotel room. I went to sleep that night thinking about Dwyatt though I had not heard anything from him, I hope he is okay.
