Beginning a New Era

Chapter 2: Budding Friendship

The next night as I was cleaning up my office August walked in,
"Hey boss um a few of us are going to the club, you want to join us?" He asked, I stopped what I was doing and looked at him.
"Sure, but you guys have got to stop calling me boss that's my dad I'm just Leena okay?" I said smiling as he nodded as Damiar and Leo walked in. "Well? Is she coming?" They asked in unison "We're taking my jeep though." I said looking at them.
"Can I be the Designated driver?" Asked Leo, I smile tossing him my keys as we all pile in and wait for Leo to start driving.
"So I have to ask, how long have you guys been with my dad?" I asked as Leo started to drive, "Well I was about 16 and I'm 27 now so about 11 years." Answered August "I was about 18 and I'm 22 now so about 4 years." Said Leo keeping his eyes on the road, "I just joined a tear ago I just turned 26" Said Damiar. I was surprised at their answers I had not realized how many loyal guys my dad by his side while I was away at school. It took us about 45 minutes to get to the club my dad owned, the music was blaring as we parked. I soon realized this is the beginning of an incredible friendship with these 3 goofballs. "Alright, you guys don't go too far away or get in trouble," I said to them as we all got out and walked up to the bouncer. "IDs?" He asked as I pulled out 200 dollars "Nelson." I answered as he takes the money "Yes ma'am go on through," He said stepping aside letting up through the music still bumping. "Wow, that was easy." Said August "Right? I'm so used to waiting in like, kind of shook." Said Damiar. We spread out into the crowd dancing with a couple of randoms here and there, I could see the boys having fun they were happy but little did I know Dwyatt was at the same club checking out all the girls. "Damn it must be my birthday!" He said bumping into someone "My apologies!" He said turning around our eyes met "No worries I should watch where I'm going." I said laughing, He was mesmerized "I don't think I have seen you around before." He said as I smiled "I uh I don't get out much, but I'm Mileena." I said looking at him "Dwyatt, it's nice to meet you." He said intrigued "Back at you." I said as I smiled as he looked at me not taking his eyes off me "So can I um get you a drink?" He asked as I look down"Thanks but I'm okay." I said, "Suit yourself beautiful, I'll see you around." He said as he sipped his drink "Maybe, and maybe not." I said as I dance back into the crowd. Hours had passed and before we realized the party had died and I was at the bar drunk "This party is dead guys it's like 1 am." Said Leo as he sits next to me "1 am? oh my god, my dad is going to kill me." I slurred "Okay yeah she is officially cut off maybe we should go get some food, sober her up some." Suggested August everyone agreeing as Leo puts me on his back "Aw... Leo I don't want to crush you." I said pouting as he started carrying me out the rest following. "Shut up and lay your head down." He said as he sat me down in the passenger seat, Damiar, and August getting in the back. Leo drove to the nearest McDonald's and ordered everyone else food and even paid and found a good parking spot. "Leena I need you to sit up and sober up I am not taking you home like this." Said Leo as he hands me my food, I rummage through the back for my fries and stuff a few in my mouth "Oh my gosh... they're fresh." I said as everybody else started to eat, "You guys must have been really hungry." Said Leo as he started to eat minutes had passed and we all had finished what we could "Alright let's get you home." August instructed as we started to my house it was silent I had dozed off for a bit until I was woken up by someone shaking me "Come on Leena we're here." Said Damiar as we all walked through the door we were caught, "Do you 4 realize what time it is?" My dad said as we look at him, "Dad I'm sorry we went out and lost track of time.." I said as he shook his head "What if you got caught? The only people who know you're in charge right now is me and the guys, take her to her room." He said frustrated "Dad I am sorry." I said nearly about to cry I had never seen him like this before. "The rest of you will stay here okay? just pick a room and we will talk in the morning." He said firmly, everyone nodding in agreement. August had taken me to my room that night and left me with my thoughts as I thought about Drewcifer and his minions they have probably already told the boss man about our encounter but enough of that it's bedtime. I changed into my PJs and got into bed soon falling asleep. Morning came and my head was hurting as I got up and made my way downstairs to see everyone sitting in the kitchen eating breakfast. "Morning guys, did you all sleep okay?" I asked as my dad brought me a plate of bacon and eggs with a few pieces of toast. "Yeah, we slept pretty well. You?" My dad asked, "Yeah I slept okay." I answered as I sit at the table and began to eat I thought about what my dad said last night. "So dad do you still wanna talk to me?" I asked a bit scared as my eyes met his gaze, you guys know that look that just makes you even regret asking some questions? Yeah, that was the look he gave me "Well, sweetie I will put it this way I need you to be sharp okay? you can't let your guard down especially in this line of work." He said as he sat down "I understand dad I will do better." I said smiling I realized that I do have to do better for the good of the gang I can have fun but I must always be prepared for what comes next.
