Ivy's sword had reappeared in her pocket, but she wasn't dumb enough to attack the god of the dead.

She looked up at him expectantly. "Well, what do you have to tell me that is so important?"

Hades laughed. "Straight to the point, I see. You demigods aren't ones for patience."

Ivy simply stared at him blankly until he continued. "You're not a simple demigod, Ivy"

Ivy tilted her head slightly. "What's that supposed to mean?"

He drew a black sword and tossed it at her. Ivy easily catched it with confusion reflecting in her eyes.

"Do you know the material that sword is made of?"

Ivy traced its form. "Stygian iron" She responded. The material looked just like Nico's.

The god nodded. "And don't you wonder why you can weild it so easily?"

"What do you mean? It's just like any other sword."

He made a tsk-tsk-tsk sound while he shook his head. "So incredulous. Tell me, have you ever asked about your mom's family?"

She remembered her talk with her dad, and it all started to click in her mind. "My father told me she was a demigod"

"Very well, he didn't tell you which god, did he?"

Ivy shook her head. Did he seriously have to make it so long? Couldn't he just say it already?

"Can the ghosts here touch you?"

"Yes" She grumbled.

"Have you ever felt that heavy feeling of death around you?"

"Yes"

"The buzzing in your ears?"

"Aha"

"And you can touch the blade of swords only the underworld children can touch?"

"Yes" She said, now less bored and more uneasy. Part of her wished she was wrong, but she knew she wasn't.

"Then is your demigod brain so small that you can't make the connection?" His madman eyes looked at her like he was explaining it to a 5 year old.

"Are you my mother's father?" She asked, hoping she didn't sound so displeased.

He laughed once again, as if what she had said was completely ridiculous. "No, no, never. But there more underworld deities apart from me"

"Then could you just cut the chase and tell me?"

His laugh stopped, and his dark irises turned serious yet interested at the same time, like he knew something else apart from what he was telling her. "Her father was Thanatos, my lieutenant"

"The death god?"

Of course her mother had to be his daughter. So now, apart from being able to drive people crazy, she was also connected with death. Lovely.

He nodded. "Exactly. You're a legacy and a demigod. A child of a god, but also a descendant of another"

The words legacy and death struck something in her mind, but she couldn't remember why it was important.

She squinted her eyes at him. "There's something else, isn't it?"

"I can't tell you anything else. Dionysus played a dangerous game." He smirked dangerously. "But you'll be more important than you think, hero"

She wanted to roll her eyes at that. She was growing tired of everyone telling her the same. What did she have so important?

Hades continued. "And some of my lieutenant's abilities may develop soon enough. Underworld children do not have the best reputation, Thatcher. I want to see how you carry it."
