Ivy was immersed in yet another everything-and-everyone-you-love-will-die dream narrated by sweet sleeping Gaia, which was definitely getting repetitive and not helpful at all for her anxiety about, well everything.

Between the probable, catastrophic, nearing ending of the prophecy of the eight, Nico's nearing suffocation, and the even more terrifying, nearing ending of Annabeth's mark task, she was really starting to think they would be better off running away to another faraway continent and wishing the rest of the world good luck. Especially considering the latter.

If Ivy was sure of anything, it was that if it came to a choice– save Annabeth from a possible death or let the quest succeed–she would always choose Annabeth. No doubt.

The sleeping green bitch opened her also green eyes. As much as it pained her to admit, Ivy knew the goddess' power was unstoppable. Her skin tingled. Her hands went numb. She looked down and realized she was crumbling to dust, like all the monsters she'd ever defeated.

"Enjoy Tartarus, my little pawn," Gaea purred.

Sorry, what?

She didn't have any more time to dwell on the comment because she suddenly became aware of a soft voice reaching her.

"Ivy?"

She groaned, rolling to the side and reaching to her side where Annabeth usually lay but only coming in contact with the bed sheets.

She heard the blonde chuckling on her other side and felt a hand come up to gently brush the hair away from her eyes, letting some light hit them.

"Wake up, V, Leo said we're about to land."

She groaned again and finally opened her eyes to see Annabeth smiling at her, already dressed and sitting on the edge of the bed. She stretched her arms and asked, still filled with tiredness, "Land where again?"

Annabeth laughed. Moments like this always reminded her how much she appreciated Ivy's way to, albeit not always on purpose, dampen her worries.

She leaned down and kissed her, pulling away a little too early for Ivy's liking. "Rome. Where we've been going this whole time, remember?" Ivy chuckled, rolling her eyes. Right, Rome. She let her girlfriend hold her hands and pull her up. "Now get ready. You'll like the view."

Once she was ready, she and Annabeth were just about to leave when Ivy suddenly pulled her to a stop, remembering something she had been wanting to discuss.

The blonde turned to her, but before she could ask anything, Ivy blurted it out. "I'm going with you." At the confusion in the girl's gray eyes, she explained, "Now, to your quest. I'm going with you."

Annabeth sighed. "Ivy, you know that you can't–"

"Yeah, yeah, I can't go through the quest with you. But you'll let me take you there, wherever there is."

The blonde's gaze hardened slightly, at least as much as she could manage when directing it at Ivy. "V, I want you to come and see the city with me on the way, but we can't. We don't know, it could be dangerous–"

"Which is why I should come. Yes."

"Ivy–"

"I'm going with you," she stated, knowing even the blonde knew better than to try and change her mind about something like that. "And don't tell me you don't want to show me all the buildings and architecture things here."
