In the dimly lit room of Maikeru's secret village, the tension hung heavy in the air. The message about Muzan's whereabouts had finally come through, and it was time for Maikeru to embark on a mission that could shed light on the demon king's movements. Yuriko, despite the inherent danger, was determined to be part of this mission.
"Maikeru," she spoke with unwavering resolve, "I can't just stand by and do nothing. I need to be there, to see Muzan for myself and to help in any way I can."
Maikeru sighed, his eyes filled with a mixture of concern and understanding. "Yuriko, this mission isn't about confrontation. It's a covert operation, observing from the shadows. We need to gather information about Muzan's movements and possibly discover the location of his lair. It's too dangerous for you and Besani."
Besani, who had been silently observing the conversation, chimed in, "Maikeru is right. Muzan's lair is a well-guarded secret, known to very few. Even I am not privy to its location. Demons summoned by Muzan are teleported there, and they don't retain any knowledge of the lair's true whereabouts."
Yuriko frowned, understanding the difficulty of the task. She glanced between Maikeru and Besani, then sighed reluctantly. "I suppose you both have a point. If it's a silent mission, there's little I can do to help without risking our safety."
With a reassuring smile, Maikeru nodded, "Thank you for understanding, Yuriko. We'll need you safe and ready for what comes next."
Besani guided Yuriko to a nearby building, offering her some semblance of comfort in this tense moment. As the hours stretched on, they passed the time by reading and occasionally engaging in a game to distract themselves from the impending mission.
However, with each passing moment, Yuriko's anxiety grew. She couldn't help but worry about Maikeru's safety and the dangerous mission he was on. Besani did her best to reassure her companion, whispering words of encouragement and support.
After a grueling wait, Maikeru finally returned to the village, but he was badly wounded. Yuriko, Besani, and the villagers rushed to his side, helping him to the medical house for immediate care.
As the nurse tended to Maikeru's injuries, he explained what had happened. "I tracked Muzan as closely as I could. I wanted to gather information, but it was a grave mistake. He sensed my presence, and we engaged in combat. Thankfully, he didn't infect me, but the wounds are substantial."
Yuriko felt a pang of guilt. She had wanted to be there, to protect Maikeru, but her absence had forced him to undertake this perilous mission alone.
Once Maikeru was stabilized, he knew there was an urgent message to convey. He looked at Yuriko and Besani with determination in his eyes. "This mission has shown me that the time has come. We cannot let Muzan continue his reign of terror. I must send word to all those who oppose him. It's time to unite and end this once and for all."
Yuriko nodded, her resolve renewed. She knew that the battle against Muzan was far from over, but she was now more determined than ever to see it through to the end.
