As I entered the cafeteria, I made my way to the table where the guys were sitting.
"Hey Logan," Dylan called out with a grin.
"Do you want something?" Zack asked, looking up from his lunch.
"No," I answered curtly.
"You know, you don't have to vent your anger on us," Ace said, his voice blunt as always.
"What do you mean?" I shot him a questioning look.
"We can all see that you're angry. We're not blind," Ace replied, crossing his arms.
I had to admit, he was right. Ace wasn’t one to sugarcoat things. That’s why sometimes I took his advice, and other times, I just hated it.
"Today, I met my mate," I said, breaking the silence.
"Wow, that's a great thing!" Dylan exclaimed, his excitement evident.
"I think we’re getting our Luna soon," Zack added, his eyes lighting up as he spoke.
But then Ace spoke again. "But?" he asked, his tone curious. Both Zack and Dylan stopped, glancing at me.
I glared at them, and they quickly went back to eating, sensing I wasn’t in the mood to talk. Before I could say anything, the cafeteria door opened, and the air was filled with the intoxicating scent of roses. My eyes automatically found her standing in the doorway.
My wolf stirred inside me, urging me to approach, and I could hear her heartbeat—rapid and erratic. My instincts told me something was wrong, and before I knew it, I was already moving, ignoring the calls of my name from behind me. I followed the scent, finding her just outside, clutching the lockers for support. She was struggling to keep her balance.
Without thinking, I sprinted forward and caught her before she hit the ground.
"Hey, Emily, wake up," I gently tapped her face, but she didn’t respond.
I picked her up carefully, feeling the weight of her body in my arms, and hurried to the school infirmary. The doctor was there quickly, and after checking her over, he reassured me it was just a panic attack. She’d be fine.
I let out a breath I didn’t realize I’d been holding. As I sat down in a chair beside her bed, I couldn’t help but notice her hand was gripping mine.
"Shh," I whispered, trying to comfort her, though I was unsure how to do so. I wanted to pull the hoodie off her face to see what my mate looked like, but I stopped myself, feeling the urge to respect her space. Instead, I stood up and left the infirmary before I did something I might regret.

BONUS CHAPTER: EMILY'S P.O.V.
When I woke up, the first thing I noticed was that I was in a bed. My head felt fuzzy, and I couldn’t quite remember how I’d gotten here. A nurse in scrubs appeared beside me, and from her uniform, it was clear she worked at the school.
"Uhm, excuse me, where am I?" I asked, my voice still a bit shaky.
"You’re in the school infirmary," she replied, continuing to check over my vitals.
"How did I get here?" I asked, confusion swirling in my mind.
"A guy brought you in," she answered simply.
