The ride was awfully quiet. Alex not even once tried to say something and Y/n was too scared to open her mouth, plus all her thoughts were towards Sasha and that phone call. She felt like someone was stabbing her in her chest, and moving the knife to make him go deeper and deeper in her. It felt awful. When they finally arrived at the hospital, it felt like it took forever to get there, Y/n took off her seat belt and tried to open the door but Alex stopped her.

«Wait, let me park and we go in together. I'm not leaving you alone like this. » He said with a calm tone and Y/n nodded.

«I'm sorry I'm making you come all the way here. »

«Please, stop saying that you're sorry. And you didn't force me to come here, I volunteered to do it. » Y/n knew he had forced a smile, it was the same dull expression he had always used during his shifts with his customers.

«Y/n I... » He sighed. «Fuck. This wasn't exactly what I imagined when you showed up at the cafe earlier. » Alex turned off the engine and lowered his head. «You blame me for not telling you about that car ride but you knew for the entire Christmas holidays that you wanted to end things between us and still decided to deceive me all this time. It's not fair! »

«I did not- »

«I know that it wasn't on purpose, but you did! I ... I don't wanna fight with you, believe me, I just... don't understand. »

«What did you want me to do? To call you one day and say "Hey, let's break up!"? I didn't want that! Because I care about you! I didn't want to deceive you, and I'm sorry if you feel this way. I didn't know how to handle this and I 100% screw everything up but believe me I didn't want to hurt you, that was the last thing I wanted to happen. »

Y/n was suddenly furious, more to herself than to him, and grabbed her bag and got out of the car without saying anything. He had just slam the facts in her face and it hurt. Oh, she really hated herself for that.

«Fuck. » Alex let out before getting out of the car and followed her only a few steps away.

«Before we go in, please, let's leave whatever happened out of this hospital. » Y/n said without looking at him and he hummed.

«Y/N? Oh, thank god you're here. I've been calling everyone! » As soon as Sasha saw Y/n, she immediately threw herself in her arms. Sasha was crying desperately, Y/n tried to hug her as tight as she could and looked at Connie and Historia who were sitting in the long white corridor of the third floor.

«Sasha, what happened? Please don't cry, everything is going to be fine... »

«He was... a-and I... the floor... »

«Sasha... »

«We were supposed to have dinner together tonight, but when we knocked no one responded. Then I remembered where they had their spare keys and I took it to open the door and... he was lying on the kitchen floor, and there was some blood on his arm. » Connie had to stop for a second, he also trembled. «He wouldn't move. »

«It's been an hour and no one is saying anything! He could be dead and we know nothing! »

«No one is dead Sasha, Jean is going to be fine. » Historia tried to calm her but Sasha continued to shake her head in disagreement.

«Y-You... no... he... »

«No Sasha, he didn't. And you know it. Please, try to relax. »

Historia pulled Sasha away from Y/n and she made her sit down and took a pack of tissues for her to wipe away her tears.
