«What did you buy to Mikasa for her birthday? I still don't know what to get her. »

The library was surprisingly empty that day; even if classes had started again, it was weird to be almost alone in one of the library rooms. Eren had suggested that they all study together between classes, and Annie had been waiting for Mikasa to leave before posing her question.

«A new tarot deck. It's... wait a moment. It has a complicated name, I'll show you. » Y/n grabbed her phone, looked for the photo she took of the deck, and showed it to Annie.

The room was dimly lit, and the only sounds that could be heard were the rustling of pages as they thumbed through their textbooks and the occasional cough or sniffle.

«Cthulhu Dark Arts Tarot. Hmh, wait, they're amazing... »

Annie looked at the photos carefully and was mesmerised by them; everything was so unique and dark, perfect for Mikasa's style.

«I know, right? As soon as I saw them, my mind went "Mikasa". So I got it. I even asked him if she already had this deck, but she didn't. » Y/n pointed at Eren, who was sitting next to her but wasn't paying attention to them, mainly because he was focused on the paper he was writing and on the loud volume of his earphones.

«So beautiful... they indeed look like something Mikasa would buy. »

«I know. Plus, Cthulhu's mythos was created by Lovecraft, and he's one of her favourite authors. »

«Maybe I can see if there's any special edition of one of his books... »

«That's an idea. »

«What are you two talking about? » Armin whispered, annoyed, after closing his books. The sudden interruption caught them off guard, and they exchanged a confused look before Y/n replied.

«Did we disturb you? »

«No, don't worry about that. I just can't deal with biology at the moment. So? What are you talking about? »

«Mikasa's birthday. What did you buy her? »

«I got her a ticket to see the Bring Me the Horizon this summer. She's wanted to see them for a while now, so I thought it would be the perfect gift. It was so hard to convince her to not buy it... she was so excited. »

«You manipulative bitch. » Annie let out, and Armin smiled.

«Let me guess, you still don't know what to get her, huh? » Annie nodded.

«I know she wanted to buy this make-up collection, it's called "Flower Something". »

«Flower knows? Armin, do you want to start wearing make-up? » Sasha joined the chat.

«No, Sasha, but you'll be the first one to know. We're talking about Mikasa's gift. »

«Oh! Makes sense, but hey! Historia said Flower knows palettes are the best, which is a good gift for her! Or anything related to Kuromi. »

Y/n was distracted from the conversation when Eren started tapping his pen on her arm to gain her attention.

«Yes? »

«Do you want to come over later? » He asked quietly. He didn't want others to hear, and Y/n took a moment before answering him.

«What day is it? »

«Tuesday, February 5. » Then Y/n shook her head slowly.

«I can't, I'm sorry. »
