Eren didn't like the idea of the bet. Actually, he felt low-key betrayed, frustrated and uncomfortable. It still didn't seem right, even if he knew his friends didn't mean to hurt him or her. Peanut was quietly sleeping on his lap, and her purring grew louder when he petted her. After all, the soothing sound of a cat's purring is known to have a therapeutic effect on humans, making it an excellent way to ease stress, anxiety, or any negative emotion. A low, vibrating sound capable of relaxing everyone immediately.

«Hi, baby. » He whispered to her while petting her head and under her chin. Her eyes closed, and her expression was pleased. Or at least he thought so. After a few strokes - and her nails dug almost into his family jewels - she decided to rest elsewhere. As if nothing happened.

«Okay, I would like to have children in the future, Peanut. »

In response, she meowed back at him unbothered.

Returning to the campus was horrible, especially if the lessons started at 8 a.m. and your willingness to live was zero. Oh, and let's not forget how freezing cold it was outside and how heavy the rain had been all day. It was a shitty day. And it was only 6 a.m.

Y/n got up from bed shivering, did her skincare and make-up, dressed, and had breakfast without speaking. And Annie did the same. Only after having their meal did they talk to each other.

«I hope I won't fall asleep in class. Wake me up. »

«If I'm not sleeping already, I will. »

«I hate early morning classes. Let's stay home. »

«Annie, it's the first class. We can't already skip it. » Y/n said, trying to convince herself rather than Annie.

«You chose Photography early this year, right? »

«Yes, and you chose Cinematography? » Annie nodded.

«Want to have lunch after that? I don't want to cook. »

«I... have to do something. »

«What? »

«I promised someone to help... them. It's complicated. »

Y/n frowned. «Who? »

«Apparently, there's this girl from Marley, where I'm from, that just moved here, and she knows no one, and my father thought it was a good idea to meet and help her. » Annie explained while drinking the last sip of coffee, exhausted. On closer inspection, Annie looked tired, like she had little or zero sleep. Her natural dark circles were more pronounced, in contrast with her pale skin.

«And it's not? »

«My father. And I don't even know how they know each other. »

«Okay, I get it. Bad idea. »

Annie sighed, got up from her chair and grabbed her backpack.

«Let's go, or we'll be late. » Y/n checked the time on her phone. «We still have plenty of time? »

«I need another coffee, and I have to buy cigarettes. »

«You'll die of lung cancer. » Y/n got up too and put everything in the dishwasher.

«You smoke, too. Remember? »

Y/n rolled her eyes while she walked to the bathroom to wash her teeth.

«We'll die of lung cancer. And I don't smoke as much as you. You smoke like a Turk. »

«A Turk? » Annie raised her head at her, still trying to lace up her shoes.
