Anything Can Happen

Chapter 3

We are in Gemma's room and no place has ever made me feel so comfortable, her walls are lined with photos of me and my dad and her dad and photos of fisher and there is some new additions, photos with a few girls whose names are Emerald who is a gorgeous mocha skinned goddess, and Phoebe who is a blonde model looking girl and Camila who literally looks like a young Jennifer Lopez. How in the hell am I going to fit in with these girls? They all look like they came straight out of a Disney channel original movie?  I'm trying to not focus to much on that and really just wanting to help Gemma pick the right outfit
"Okay so it's between this blue sundress or this blue tube tops and my American eagle denim shorts?"
"What are the other girls wearing?" I say as I examine myself in my black almost too small for me sundress that's from last summer.
"They all said casual cute, and you're already wearing a sundress, would it be weird if I did too?"
"I think it would be cute for us to match" I say and smile at my cousin.
"Your right, and I think Theo is going to be there" she says to me
"Who is Theo?"
"Okay only the cutest and dreamiest boy in our whole class! He transferred here from broken arrow and oh my god I have had the biggest crush on him"
"What does he look like?"
Gemma then pulls out her phone and pulls up Theo's Instagram profile and hands me her phone
I scroll for a second and I like what I see, he has dark curly hair, a nose ring and his style is pretty bad ass. It looks like he is always at concerts or some party just having a good time.
"Wow gem, he is cute, and he doesn't have a girlfriend?"
"Nope; he says grove girls are too normie or whatever that means"
"Sounds like some shit I'd say"
"Oh god do not go after Theo, he is MINE! you wouldn't even know he existed if I didn't tell you."
"I promise cousin, I won't go after your man, plus I'm not looking for anything this summer, I want to get out of here with a clean slate no attachments"
I look into the mirror and after applying some make up and straightening my hair I do not look half bad.
"You look so beautiful char" Gemma says while looking at me with this doe look
She looked beautiful; the powder blue always looks so good against her pale skin and strawberry blonde curls. If a guy like Theo wouldn't want her, he isn't worthy of her.

We pulled up to probably the biggest house I have ever seen, it's even bigger than fishers. She has nice structured landscaping and it looks like her house has three stories, we walk in through the door and the house is filled to the brim with teenagers and young adults and man it is fancy. The chandeliers hanging from the ceiling looks like it's made out of crystals and there is three separate living rooms just on the first floor; Gemma grabs my hand and takes me up the stairs and we go into the room that's the first door on the left. We walk in and see the three girls from the pictures just sprawled out on a huge huge bed.
"GEMMA" emerald screams as she gets up from her bed and comes and hugs my cousin
She is wearing a metallic crop top with a cargo mini skirt and some cute heels
"I thought you said casual cute" Gemma exclaims
"This is casual cute for me, so is this Charmaine??" SHES so pretty! Hey I'm emerald" she says and sticks her hand out at me.
She looks so gorgeous up close, her gold eyes remind me of honey combs, and her braids were so long they ran half way down her back
I then give her my hand and smile at her slightly
"It's nice to meet you, your house is gorgeous" I say back
"Thank you. I like yours also, my dad tried to buy it a few years back but your dad really won't sell it"
"Yeah it was his dads house, he is pretty sentimental about it"
"Yeah it's just got the best view of the lake and it comes with a dock, we wouldn't have to park our boats at the marina if we had a place like that even if it was just a spare property" she says then smirks
The other two girls also get up and introduce themselves
"I'm Camila, and this is phoebe"
I'm eyeing the girls up and phoebe looks like she could be on America's next top model, I've never met anyone skinner then Gemma. I could see her rib cage sticking out from underneath the tube dress she has on, and Camila's olive colored skin is glowing underneath the green tube top she has on also paired with a cargo skirt similar to emeralds.
These girls are the whose who of grove and I can't believe my cousin is hanging out with them. When did she become like this and suddenly need more friends then just fisher and I? Aren't we enough for her?
"It's nice to meet you guys; I'm going to go get something to drink" I say and then exit the room
I make my way down towards the kitchen and I open the fridge and it's filled to the brim with alcoholic drinks I grab a black cherry white claw and open it and give it a quick chug, if I'm going to deal with these OC wannabes I'd have to get a quick buzz. I lay my empty can on the counter and grab another white claw from the fridge
"Littering is bad" a voice says from behind me
I turn around and I see fisher
"Oh god fish food I was going to throw it away" I smirk back
"I'll believe it when I see it" he says then smirks
I then proceed to grab the empty can from
The counter  and I crumble it in my hands and then I threw it at him and it bounced back at him and hit the floor
"I'm not a trash can" he says back
"You could've fooled me" I say back and laugh
He inches closer to me and then says "you think you're so funny huh" as he is looking into my eyes
"I'm hilarious, now why the Fuck are you allowing Gemma to hang out with these air heads"
"Gemma can do what she wants"
"Do you like these girls?"
"Yeah they are really cool, and they have been good for Gemma"
"Your good for Gemma" I say back
He then grabs his chest and says "gee that's the nicest thing you've ever said to me"
"You sure about that" I say back
"It's not like you're just saying nice shit all the time, it's very far and few in between"
Then this guy walks up to us, he has blonde hair and blue eyes and has a chiseled jaw line
Since when did every guy in grove look like a wannabe Hollister model?
"Hey Fish, whose the chick?" He says then looks at me, I can feel his eyes on me and my face suddenly feels warm
"The chicks name is Charmaine, she is Gemma's cousin." Fisher says back
"They look nothing alike" he says to me
"Yeah not everyone looks like their cousins I say back
"Yeah well, I'm Riley, I'm on the basketball team with fisher, well used to be. God it's still so hard to believe we just graduated" he says with a sigh
"What's so hard to believe; we are on to better things now" I say back
"Only people that weren't popular in high school say shit like that" Riley mumbles
"Yeah well I wasn't" I say then smirk
"A little emo hottie like you wasn't popular; that's hard to believe" he says then blows me a kiss
"Yuck; yep well I'm over this conversation" I say and then walk away. I then just decide to go over towards the keg and get a fresh beer, I'm on my third drink and I've only been here 20 minutes, I need to slow down because what if I was supposed to be the DD?
