Anyhow, without further ado, I present to you the Crying Glass...
----
You knew from the second he walked in that he had done something wrong. Specks of blood littered his face and a scowl resided in place. The blood wouldn't be his. And the scowl, well it certainly wasn't what you expected. Normally, his eyes would light up the second they saw you.
Today, they held nothing but hostility. Deep down, you knew the hostility and pent up rage was not directed at you but you couldn't stop the shiver that ran down your spine. He wasn't looking at you.
No. He was looking through you. Directly through you at the wall in front.
He was like a bull that had seen red. And it was enough.
Within seconds, you were seized by your wrists and pulled into his blood speckled body. Shockingly tender fingers ran through your locks. Inhaling a shaky breath, you hugged the man in front of you back.
Despite the rusty scent of blood, you could still notice his musky scent beneath it all.
"I don't understand people. Why does nobody take care of anything important? I mean, the world is better off without him. And on top of everything, he believes he has a right to say something to you?"
Your grip around his torso tightened. "My prince, you shouldn't have. I am-"
"I'm begging you. Please don't start with this commoner bullshit."
"Good thing I wasn't," your words were muffled in his shirt. "I was going to bring up your possible marriage. You know, the one which is currently in the works. You aren't to marry me. I'm not the one to go to such extents for. Deep down you know this! So stop being irrational and realize what I am." You could feel Hiro tense as you concluded your thought, "I'm a commoner, Hiro."
The fingers that were gently flowing through your hair came to an abrupt stop, "I thought you said you weren't going to bring up this commoner shit. You know it's nothing to me."
He was avoiding the topic. You knew him so well. "It is to her."
"Bullshit. She's out there somewhere with someone else! There's nothing."
"My prince, this is stupid. I serve you. Lady Analise is bette-"
"Silence."
Your brows knitted together, "You know I speak some truth. Please listen to me. If you continue this, think of the repercussions. What if your father begins to disapprove of you? Your uncles? Your aunts? Your grandparents? Hiro-"
"Dear, do you not understand the meaning of silence. Isn't it obvious I don't care? My father is on our side."
For a moment, you closed your eyes. Hiro was so comforting. A comfort you certainly shouldn't have been indulging in. Fingers gently combed through your hair once again. It was so bad, but maybe - just maybe - someone would take pity on you. Ignore the clear boundaries you were breaking in favour of sparing a poor peasant girl the heartbreak.
They wouldn't.
But you could wish.
"Hiro-"
"Goodness woman please stop. Lately it seems all you desire is to leave." Though the words had a blank tone, you knew the man in front of you was slowly bursting at the seams. You could read it in his grey eyes. The child-like glimmer his eyes normally held was fading. "Tell me. Is that it? Do you desire to leave?"
