On Eclipse's inaugural day at primary school, a palpable sense of nervousness gripped him tightly. His gaze darted anxiously around the classroom when he met his teacher, Calypso, a welcoming figure who radiated warmth and kindness. She sensed his unease and kindly suggested, "Why don't you play with the red kelpie and the Russell terrier over there?"With Calypso's gentle encouragement and a nod of approval, Eclipse cautiously approached Rusty and Jack, two of his new classmates. He ventured a greeting, "Hello, what are you playing?" Rusty, with an amiable smile, replied, "We were playing army." Jack chimed in, "Do you want to play?" Eclipse's face lit up with enthusiasm as he eagerly responded, "Yes, please."
Under Calypso's watchful eye, they embarked on an adventure of imagination, playing in the fields for hours until it was time for pickup. Eclipse's father arrived, eagerly anticipating the stories of his son's first day. Eclipse bid farewell to his new friends and Calypso, his heart brimming with the experiences of the day.
As they settled into the car, anticipation buzzed in the air. Eclipse eagerly recounted the day's adventures to his mother, who had spent her afternoon in the backyard, passing the time until dinner, having taken care of grocery shopping while Eclipse was at school.
Upon their return home, Eclipse's father, beaming with pride, took the reins of the kitchen, preparing a hearty meal of steak and fries. It was a favorite dish, lovingly crafted by his dad, a delicious ending to a day brimming with new beginnings under the caring guidance of their beloved teacher, Calypso.
