He blinks at what he thinks is the ceiling fan that is above him, vision blurry and ears ringing. Is he on the ground? What happened him to lying on the ground? He tries to move his arm, but he really cannot feel anything. After what he thinks is a while, he gazes to his side, where his arm is sprawled on the ground still holding his phone, screen alight showing the stupid, no-effort ending of that stupid Otome Game.

Shit.

OK. Calm yourself ጋልህጎክቹ, Think! He was crying his anger out because of the most low-effort ending he had ever seen in his life. This said ending is from the Otome Game "Tied by the String of Fate", your typical "Heroine is a commoner and gets accepted to a magic school where he meets hot dudes" storyline, and unfortunately had gained popularity from its art style. He had thought to check it out since his little sister had ranted to him about it, of how "cute" the fictional men are, and he just needed to see them.

He spent so much real money buying game passes! Powerups! And the developers just had to make the story end with "The dudes kills the big bad villain and lives happily ever after with the heroine's chosen guy", There wasn't even a cutscene! Just a blank screen and white text! Not even voice lines from the guys and the heroine! Basically just a rushed ending that was just given one thought before it was published!

He tries to move his fingers, attempting to press the power button of his phone that is still playing the stupid intro song for the game. His body only twitches. Gods, why is he weak?

Oh, wait.

The door opens and he can hear the muffled sound of his sister gasping and then shouting at him, he can see the shadow of her kneeling down beside his head and shaking him. He fell and hit his head on his desk earlier from leaning back too far from his chair. Now that he thinks of it, he should've listened to his parents or this wouldn't have happened. Stupid, Stupid ጋልህጎክቹ.

He can hear sirens in the distance now, and the muffled cries of his little sister above him calling out his name. He can feel the footsteps beneath him, the ground vibrating and announcing the arrival of another person, who too leans over him, cupping his face. His mouth opens and closes and by the gods, he hopes that he doesn't look like a fish. The person that cupped his face turns his head slightly and-

'God damn my little sister is an ugly crier.'

(She shouldn't have seen him like this anyway, she's too young to see him in such a state.)

Oh, stars are dancing in his eyes, making him close his eyes. His hearing is returning, the ringing is still there but slowly fading. Her cries are so much clearer now.

His face twitches, attempting to smile though he really isn't sure of who he is looking at, to reassure his sister that he is alright. Her cries become louder, the wet patch on his chest becomes more damp, her curling into him as she sobs her heart out.

He doesn't want to die, but he really doesn't have a choice, does he?

'Man, I really hope she erases my browser history' is the last thing he thinks before he sinks into darkness and embraces eternal sleep.

(Author: how was that? is it good? this is currently the third rewrite of this plot and i would love to see any suggestions!!)
