One more year before I take over the family business..
I cringe to myself as I finish off the last mouthful of my beer.
Not that I don't want to take over it, I'm just not ready for all that responsibility.
I watched the role consume my father and I don't want that for myself.
I haven't even experienced life yet, let alone lived it.
I thought I would have met my mate. The future Luna of the pack. But the Moon Goddess is tormenting me because I should have found my mate by now.
The boys and I are starting the school year off with a few celebration drink at the local pizzaria down the road.
This joint has been our favourite hang out these last 3 years.
It's hard to believe this would be our last year before... you know.
I don't know what's with me today but I have felt off all afternoon.
Blade, my best mate brings over another round of drinks and the boys start cheering.
Blade hands me my drink and calls a toast, "boys, boys, here's a toast to the pack and another year, our final year at Wolf Lake." The boys all started howling and we skull our beers.
All out a sudden the most extraordinary scent filled the room. I look around to see what was causing it, sniffing the air.
Blade leans forward. "What is it Dan?" He asked noticing my reaction.
"Who is that?" I ask? Sniffing the air some more.
Blade looks around with me but he cant smell what I smell.
Then all of a sudden the smell was gone.
