Chapter Eighteen | Harper POV

I needed to get away from Lily, I do have books to pick up but I needed a break from her questioning. I can't help being the way I am when near Alpha Daniel, he is angry at me for being a pathetic minder to Lil.

He sends me the that vibe that makes me pull my tail between my legs and I have to respect him, after all he will the the new Alpha.

He wants to learn about Lily's family.

He can't know, it's too dangerous for her! If anyone was to find out that Lily is the love child of some guy named Floki and her human mother then that could put her life in danger.

Lily doesn't even know she is a wolf and she is mated to the next in line to be Alpha. Daniel.

A chill suddenly went up my spine.

I don't know much about this Floki character but why else would the Moon Goddess ask me to protect her?

He must be a bad person

If her father were to find out about Lily, it can become very dangerous for her.

I have to protect her!

Upon walking out of the library, I was lost in my own thoughts and accidentally ran into someone dropping all of my books.

Feeling embarrassed, I scramble to pick up my books. When I compose myself I look up to apologise to the person, who knocked me, my whole being electrified.

Mate.

Wait. I've seen him before, but where?

"You're Harper Milano aren't you?" He asks.

Totally shocked that he knew who I was and I didn't even know him I blush and reply, "yes, but how'd you..."

He interrupted and said, "Dan told me about you. I'm Blade. I've been looking into Lily and seen you've been a huge part of her life. You're her minder right."

"Best friend," I corrected him, "I was her minder but we eventually became friends."

He reached out and put his hand on my arm holding the books.

Tingles.

Does he even know I'm his mate?

I wonder.

"You girls should come watch us train down by the lake today." He said as he pulled his hand away.

Blushing, I reply. "Sure, we'd love to." Before turning and leaving the library.

My whole body felt electric as I exit the library. He mustn't know I am his mate, he didn't say anything. But then again neither did I.

I have to see him again, in case he didn't get the memo that I am his mate.

I've got to somehow convince Lil to go down the the Lake.
