Sakuragi Katsuki P.O.V.
-2005-Mikey grins widely at me, and even Draken has a smile on his face. "Are you sure you don't mind?" I ask, insecurely. "I invited you, didn't I?" Mikey asks amused. "My sister will be there as well, so she can keep you company" He says. "You don't have to be scared" he says grinning playfully. "I'm not. You do know what my family does right? Giving you're the president of a gang and all" I say. "We do. But you said you lived quite sheltered" Draken says. "From the outside yes, but not from what my family does, and the people involving it" I say. "Well then, come on" Mikey says amused, and offers me his hand. I hesitate again then take his hand and step behind him on his bike. When he starts it, it comes to life with a loud roar. "Hold on" Mikey says. I grab his waist and he drives off. I never thought I would, but I actually enjoy being on this bike. The wind blowing through my hair like this gives me a sense of freedom. The ride was too short in my opinion when we arrive at the Musashi shrine. There are already a few people and as I step off, I feel a bit shy. "Don't worry" Mikey says as he sees my face. "Emma" Mikey calls out, as he walks and I quickly follow him. "Where have you been, I've been waiting forever" A girl says and she seems slightly annoyed, but the look she gives Draken is different. "This is Tsukichin" Mikey says as he pulls me forward. "Look after her for a bit, would ya?" Mikey asks, but before Emma can answer, Mikey and Draken are already gone. "So...Tsukichin?" She asks, looking me up and down. "It's Katsuki really" I say. "I like Tsukichin better" she says. I don't respond and smile slightly. "I like your hair" Emma says after a long silence. "Thank you." I answer. "It dienst seems dyed at all" she says, giving it a closer look. "It's not" I answer. "Really? You don't see it too often" Emma says a little surprised. "Everyone born in my family has it" I say. "So who doesn't, your mom or your dad?" Emma asks. I chuckle. "My mom had black hair" I say amused. Emma smiles brightly. She looks like Mikey when she smiles like that. "I think we're going to be good friends" she says.
I'm impressed by Mikey. When he spoke to his gang, his aura shifted completely. It was almost like I saw my father, or my elder brother speak. Mikey smiles when he walks over to us. "You're having fun?" He asks. "Where have you been hiding this one, Mikey? No fair!" Emma says. "I haven't. I just met her a little while ago" Mikey answers. I blush a little. "What, you're getting shy now?" Draken asks teasing. "I'm really not that special" I mumble embarrassed. As soon as I've said that, it's silent. "What makes you say that?" Mikey asks. "Because it's true" I shrug. "You shouldn't say such things about yourself, Tsukichin" Emma says softly. "It's not a big deal. It's just how it is. I learned that fairly quickly you know" I say. Mikey reaches over to me, and strokes my hair behind my ear. "If you weren't special, I wouldn't have invited you. I don't just invite people" Mikey says. "You don't have to be insecure, Tsukichin. You're so pretty, and so kind" Emma says, smiling again. "Let's just stop grilling the girl. We don't know what happened to her, in her life" Draken says. I send him a grateful look. "Do you want me to take you home?" Mikey asks. "If you won't mind" I mumble. Mikey looks at Draken. "I'll take Emma" Draken responds and Mikey nods. "Let's go" he says softly, and I follow him to his bike. A few guys banter with him as I step on behind him but then we drive off. Mikey doesn't drive to my house, instead he stops at the river. "I know it hasn't been that long since we've met" he says after he turns off his bike. "But it surprised me that you feel that way about yourself." Mikey says. "You don't know anything about me, Mikey-kun. And I don't know anything about you" I say softly. "Maybe you're right" Mikey says. "But I'd like to change that. If you don't mind" he says. I fight the urge to lay my head against his back. "I'd like that" I say after a while. Mikey looks at me over his shoulder and grins. "Great" he says. I smile back at him. "Let's get you home" he says, starts his bike again and drives off. I hold his jacket a little tighter, wondering if it really would be okay.
Most of the time, I don't leave my room. There's not much for me to do here anyway, and most of the time I'm just in the way. Sometimes I do sit in the engawa overlooking the sacred Sakura tree. "I've been seeing you here a lot lately" Father says as he sits down next to me. "It's soothing" I say. "Hmm. It is, isn't it?" I can hear some amusement in my fathers voice, I'm a little surprised by it. "Are you making friends?" Father asks. For a moment I think. "I'm not sure if they're my friends yet. But I think they will be" I answer. "That's good...So I was thinking" he starts. "Your brothers have a salary since they're also working and doing their part" father says. "I'm not expecting the same thing from you, not yet. Soon you'll be brought in as well, as you're getting older" he says. "But you're going outside, making friends. How does a allowance sound? So you won't have to rely on your friends." Father asks. Carefully I look at him, but he just looks at me with a serious face. "Are you sure?" I ask. "Why wouldn't I be?" He asks, frowning slightly. I shrug. "Of course I am. If you're going to be out, be with your friends. I'd rather you have fun, whatever that entrails. But you should at least buy your own drinks and food if necessary, or buy something nice for yourself" Father says. "Then I'd be very grateful, Otosama" I say. A slight smile appears on his face. "Well then, consider it done" Father says. "I'll discuss with your grandfather how you'll receive the allowance" he says. I bow my head, thanking him. I blink surprised when I hear a small chuckle, and then his hand on my head. "Go ahead now. It's getting late" Father says. "Oyasumi, Otosama" I say, as I get up. "Sleep well.." father says. As I walk away, I can hear him sigh deeply. I look down at my feet. Is it that much a bother to interact with me? Sadly I look back at him, before I walk through the hall, up the stairs and toward my room. The door toward Ichiro's room is open, but he's reading. "You alright, Katsuki?" He asks as he looks up. "Fine" I say, walking toward my own room. "Always fine" I mumble.
