Sakuragi Katsuki P.O.V.
-2005-

School was something I always excelled at. I get good grades, I'm in a club that I really enjoy. Even though there are obviously a lot of delinquents, and children of prestigious Yakuza families in this school, the standard of grades is very high and I'm always in the top. "Tsukichin?!" I stand up straight, lifting my shoes in the process and look up. Draken is at the entrance, with a very sleepy looking Mikey. "Hey" I say, putting my shoes in the locker and putting on my Uwabaki. "What are you doing here?" He asks. "..I go to this school..?" I say, a little confused. "Since when?" Draken asks, pushing Mikey forward as he takes off his own shoes. Only just now Mikey notices me and hugs me happily as he calls out my name. "Since I started junior high?" I ask, still confused. "Never noticed you" Mikey says. "You never paid attention" I say. "So you knew?" Draken asks. "I did" I say. "Why didn't you tell us?" Mikey asks. "Are these guys bothering you, Katsuki-hime?" I look up and see the son of a Yakuza head my father works closely with. He's always acting like he's better than anyone. I don't like him much. "Huh?!" Both Draken and Mikey ask aggressively as they tilt their heads. "They're not. And stop calling me hime" I say. Mikey smirks. "School might get a bit interesting, Kenchin" he says. "Hmm" Draken scoffs. I can't help but smile slightly. "Idiots" I chuckle. "You should get to your class" I say, putting my bag on my shoulder. "Will we see you at lunch, Tsukichin?" Mikey asks. "Of course" I say, smiling slightly. "Have a good day, Hime-sama" Draken grins, as I walk away. I stop and turn slightly. "You will regret that" I say jokingly. "I doubt that. Hime-sama" Draken says, making both him and Mikey laugh. I stick my tongue out to them and walk up the stairs. "You know those guys?" One of my classmates, a girl, asks. "I do" I say. "Don't you think that they're a bit scary?" She asks. I chuckle. "You do know what school you go to and who your family is?" I ask amused, as she's also from a prominent Yakuza family. "Yeah but still" she says. "They're not scary at all." I say, waving my hand. "They saved me, actually" I say.

"Katsuki?" I hear Ichiro's voice as he walks up on the engawa. I stand up and walk away. "Not so fast" he says and I can hear him running. Even though I sped up my pace, he still reached me as I reached the sacred tree and he grabs my wrist. I have no choice but to turn to him. He looks the same as always in his casual clothes, bare feet and his hair in either a pony tail or a braid. "You know that nothing is going to change right?" He asks. "Everything is already changing" I say. I can still feel him next to me in bed, whispering the stories that mother used to tell us. I can feel him holding me close and consoling me and I can see myself on his back as he carried me everywhere. "If you're afraid to get lonely on the second floor, I can ask Taiyō-kun if he wants to move over there" Ichiro says. "No, I'm fine" I say. Ichiro sighs and frowns. "You're not. I can see that you're not. I helped raise you, I know you. You don't have to pretend" Ichiro says. "You don't know me as well as you think you do" I say annoyed. Ichiro places his hands in his pockets. "I know more than you think" he says. His eyes are filled with so much sadness that I immediately know that he knows. I look away. "Why didn't you talk to me?" Ichiro asks. "You know the rules.  No woman can be happy here. It's no surprise that Okaasama  died" I say. I can hear the punch before I feel it, and before I land against the wall. "Ichiro!" Grandfather warns. I look at Ichiro and see a pained expression on his face I've never seen before as he looks at our grandfather, who is walking over. As I wipe the blood from my mouth, his eyes meet mine and we both know that whatever bond we had is irretrievably broken. If I thought I saw pain on his face before, it's nothing compared to this. "Katsuki" Ichiro whispers as I walk past him, but I ignore it. "You fool! We're trying everything to keep her from running. To never have her try again." Grandfather hisses. "I know! But my hand moved on its own when she said that..." Ichiro says. "I know it was harsh. But please we cannot lose her" Grandfather says. "I cannot lose her" Ichiro says.

"You really don't have to do this" I say, as I walk with Ayame toward the festival. "I'm from a Yakuza family myself Katsuki-chan." She says. "I know how isolated you have been, and how lonely that can feel" Ayame says. I don't respond. "I hope that now that I'm here, I can take away some of that loneliness" she then says. "Shouldn't you worry about your relationship with Ichiro-nii first, before you worry about me?" I ask. Ayame chuckles. "Ichiro and I have been close friends for many years, and we have a good understanding about our marriage and our relationship. I do not need to worry about that. But you are the most important person in Ichiro's life" she says and I scoff. "So I do worry about you" she says. Ayame places a hand on my forearm. "I know that you two had a falling out, but to him you really are the most important person in his life. He loves you very much" she says. "He probably does." I say, pulling my arm from her hand. "Let's just go and get this over with" I say, walking onto the festival grounds. I buy some sweets and see Emma, but since she's with Draken, I don't bother her.  After a little while I start to enjoy myself. I play the games and allow Ayame to buy me treats. I haven't seen Mikey yet, which disappoints me a little, but since I'm with Ayame, there's nothing I can do if he were here. "I'm ready to go home" I tell Ayame, since my feet are starting to hurt. "Alright, let's go. I'll text Ichiro to send a car" she says. I walk with Ayame to the exit of the festival when I bump into someone. "Oh, excuse me" I say. I frown when he ignores me, but there's something on his face that is worrisome. As well as his muttering. "Katsuki!" Ayame says. "You're bleeding" she says, as I look at her frowning face. "Bleeding?" I ask, and then look down and see that my Yukata is starting to stain. "What happened?" She asks as she grabs my arm. "I don't know, I just bumped into someone" I say. "I didn't even feel anything" I say, but at that moment my legs give in. "Hey, stay with me" Ayame says, catching me.
