"Do you remember that letter you received that day?"the man began explaining.

"How can I not remember, that was her first and last memory for me."replied taesan now looking down.

"What did that letter read?"

"Umm..."taesan hesitated but the man was quick to cut him off.

"Taesan-ah I'm sorry, but I need to leave.
That's what it said, right?"questioned the man, his entire focus was on taesan.

Taesan looked horrified yet shocked when the man uttered the exact wordings of that letter.
"H-how...."his voice wasn't supporting him at that moment.

"I know everything kid."sighed the man.

"Who are you?"taesan questioned not believing the situation.

"It's not important right now but what I'm about to tell you is, so listen to me carefully."

Taesan nodded and didn't utter a single word afterwards.

"Yoon Ma-ri, she is still alive. Yeah, she didn't drown herself that day. It was a trap for the outside world to make them believe that she took her own life and isn't alive anymore."
"She had to go through alot in her life after her mother's death and is probably still facing the same situation."the man continued.

"But why?"taesan was getting curious.

"Her father, yeah he's the reason of her sufferings."sighed the man before continuing, "your crush on her was never one sided. She loved and admired you the same way you did and that's what led to her misery."

The man suddenly paused for a second and stood up in an instant, making taesan flinch.

"Shush."the man said, shushing him.

After good ten minutes when the man was satisfied that no one was there, he went in the direction of the door and came back after quickly taking a look at the surroundings.

"What just happened?"questioned taesan.

"Nothing maybe he's about to visit you real soon."

"Who?"

"Her dad, he's the one who brought you here in the first place I'm just here to check up on you every now and then."said the man as he sat down once again.

"You were telling me something?"curiosity took the best of him and he couldn't stop asking.

"Yeah, Yoon Ma-ri, her life was perfect when her mom was with her. They had a happy family too but then one day, her mom died in a car crash while she was driving to pick her up from school and from that day her life changed. Her dad became alcoholic and used to blame her for her mother's death and amidst the ongoing chaos, he somehow found out that his daughter has crush on you. He did whatever he could to stop her from going to the same school as you and even went to the extent of spreading false rumors about his own daughter's death."

"But why did he do that? Does he not want his daughter's happiness?"

"As I told you before her father blames her for her mom's death and just wants her to suffer and that's the only reason he never allowed her to date and when he got to know she has crush on you, he did all this."the man sighed.

"He's sick."said taesan making a disgusted face.

"Trust me he is more than that but what's more important right now is your life."

"What do you mean?"

"Yeah he wants you dead because he thinks that's the only way of keeping his daughter away from you."

"Does she know about all this?"

"Not fully but she does know a little bit."

"But how did he get to know about me?"taesan was calm which was the literal opposite of what the man had expected.

"To be honest I don't know."

"Where is she now?"

"Somewhere near but I don't know exactly."

"Can you tell me now, who are you?"

"I'm Ma-ri's maternal uncle and the reason I'm doing all this is because he has someone who is very dear to me and I can't lose her."said the man now looking down with tears in his eyes.

"Are you willing to help us?"taesan questioned looking in his eyes with a ray of hope.
