Yujin was not alone in feeling a shiver run down his spine the first time he saw Gunwook. He means it when he says that nearly every trainee in Boys Planet can relate, especially given Gyuvin's reaction to him.
Gunwook's presence was intense and commanding. Though Yujin initially found it intimidating, Gunwook's performance had a coolness to it that left a lasting impression. Later on, Yujin recognized Gunwook for more than his intimidating exterior - he possesses dedication, passion, and even vulnerability beneath his overflowing confidence. Yujin noticed that Gunwook was struggling, just like everyone else, so he did what any other person would have done for him. Yujin showed the once scary person that he is not alone. They learned more about each other and soon became friends, sharing the same dream on the show.
Gunwook's unwavering support during 'Here I Am' meant the world to Yujin, especially during his toughest moments. He was truly grateful for Gunwook's presence and encouragement. As the weeks passed on Boys Planet, Yujin was truly happy to have Gunwook as a friend, they did a lot of stuff together despite them being in different teams most of the time. The one time they danced together was during the dance battle they had, it's also where Gunwook gave Yujin his iconic line which made them win it all. Yujin doesn't know whether to laugh or cry about it.
As the trainees became smaller and smaller throughout the show, Yujin and Gunwook found themselves relying on each other more than ever. The competition put a lot of pressure on them, but their friendship gave them strength and resilience. During their free time in the dorms, they would frequently wander into each other's rooms, share laughter, and sing together to relieve stress. In these moments, Yujin appeared to open up more, revealing different aspects of his personality, while Gunwook also displayed a lighter side, acting more his age. After all, they were the two youngest trainees on the show.

The day had finally arrived. After months of grueling training, intense competition, and unwavering determination, Yujin and Gunwook stood side by side, their hearts pounding with anticipation as they prepared to make their debut on the grand stage. The once two youngest in the finals of the survival show had debuted as the two youngest of ZEROBASEONE. It was reassuring in a way having someone close to you in age while on the other hand, Gunwook was determined to be the best hyung for Yujin as this was also a first for him - for being so used to having older hyungs in his life. Though neither of them was thinking too much about that, It was a new chapter for both of them, one filled with possibilities and shared experiences.
Yujin, however, was not prepared to be dotted by the older. Gunwook couldn't help but admire Yujin's youthful innocence. Despite his best efforts to act like a responsible hyung, Gunwook couldn't help but tease Yujin from time to time. Adopting Gyuvin's "parenting" skills, Gunwook has also begun referring to Yujin as his child, and while Yujin appreciates Gunwook's care, he can't help but roll his eyes at him.
However, unlike the other members who couldn't stop hugging Yujin and teasing him with playful nicknames like 'baby' and 'our son', Yujin's reaction to Gunwook was noticeably different. While he frequently dodged his fellow members' affectionate advances, there was something about Gunwook's embrace that felt different to Yujin.
Perhaps it was the genuine warmth and sincerity behind Gunwook's actions, or the understanding that came from their shared experiences as the two youngest members. Whatever the reason, Yujin found himself instinctively leaning into Gunwook's hugs, a rare display of affection reserved solely for his best friend.
In Gunwook's presence, Yujin felt a sense of comfort and security. He couldn't help but play along with Gunwook's shenanigans, their laughter filling the room as they shared inside jokes and cherished moments.
