chapter 5

Soojin's pov:

"Heyy sugarplum." She says as we start walking to the nearest ice cream shop.

"Mrs swan liked my song." I say smiling as I hold onto bitna's arm when we walk.

"Everyone would like your songs if you put them online, like I bet that if you upload a song on YouTube that agencies will be lining up to have you sign them." Bitna says pulling me into the ice cream shop.

"I.. I'll think about it." I say as we're finally in line for some ice cream.

"What flavor should we get?" I ask bitna when I saw she was looking at all the flavors on display.

"Dude they have Thai tea and matcha flavor." she says excited

I chuckle as I say "damn you're more excited than me, but remember that you're paying for both of us."

Bitna narrows her eyes at me before she starts smiling brightly.

"You never forget anything do you?" Bitna giggles.

"I forget a lot but never fun and exciting things like this." I say as I start giggling too.

"Uhm.. ladies, will you 2 order or just stand there talking?" Says the girl behind the counter looking irritated at us.

"Why wouldn't we order when we've been standing in line the whole time." Bitba says looking the girl up and down with narrowed eyes.

"Just tell me your order." Says the girl while rolling her eyes.

I bite my inner cheek in annoyence as I look over to bitna so she could tell her order.

"If you say so, I'll take a cup with Vanilla and matcha" bitna says with a obvious fake smile.

"And you?" The girl says looking at me with her botox lips.

"Thai tea and vanilla in a cup." I say looking her dead in the eye holding back all the insults I have built up inside of me cause her and kyungjun.

The girls starts making our order giving us glances every now and then. When she finally finished making our order we took it and put the exact amount of cash on the counter and walked away.

"Next time we go for ice cream let's just go to a place with better customer service..." I say eating my ice cream

"I wouldn't mind going to the mall for ice cream anymore if it means better employees than this fucked up looking girl." Bitna says while kicking a random stone against a wall aggressively.

I just chuckle and look around to see if there is any fun place to go to but fail to do so as I keep eating my ice cream.

"Bitna what should we do for our birthday this year since it's not far away now." I say as bitna hooks onto my arm with hers.

"Idk, maybe we could go to the arcade or an amusement park orrrrr we could have a movie night at my house with all kids of snacks and drinks" Bitna pauses to look at me before continuing to talk "plus I think my mom would be going to visit my grandparents in Korea for a week so we would have the house for ourselves for a little while." She looks satisfied with her options as she waits for my choice.

I look at bitna smiling as I think about the options for a hot minute.

"What if we combine those over the weekend, like have some nice waffles and pancakes as breakfast that we coule make together then in the afternoon go to the arcade and then have a Movie night" I look at bitna so see her looking attentive and nodding at what I'm telling her as I continue talking "and then the next day we could have some easy take out breakfast and then go to the amusement park early." I smile as I finish talking being happy with the planning hoping she is too.

"This is why I love you my 친구(friend)." Bitna says giving me her gummy smile.

"Aww I love you too pabo." I say giggling as we see the mall across the street.

Bitna stops walking out of nowhere, making me stop too. I look at her confused but she's staring across the street at something or someone.

"What are yo-" she puts her hand over my mouth having me shut up and looking even more confused.

"I think I see someone there that we know..." bitna says as she lowers her hand again.

I look where she's looking and I squint my eyes trying to get a better look at them and I notice that it's her crush.

"Girl how do you not recognize who that is." I say now looking at bitna with a raised eyebrow.

"Who is it then?" She asks before taking a picture of the person and zooming in on the face.

I look at her amused as she gasps and fixes her clothes.

"Do I look okay?" Bitna asks me looking at the camera on her phone looking at her make-up.

"You look fine Mrs. Lim Bitna" I say ruffling her hair and crossing the road quickly before she could react.

Bitna just looks at me with a pout and crosses the road running to me. Meanwhile her crush is leaning against the wall close to the entrance of the mall looking like they're waiting on someone.

"It's really her... it's my crush" bitna whispers to me as she looks nervous.

"Just walk up to her and say hi before someone takes her from you now's your chance" I say trying to hype her up as I shake her shoulders and push her in the direction of her crush. Bitna almost fell but her crush caught her on time.

Bitna's pov:

"Just walk up to her and say hi before someone takes her from you now's your chance." Soojin says making me feel better as she starts to shake my shoulders and pushes me in the direction of my crush. I almost fell but my crush caught me before I hit the ground.

"Are you okay Bitna?" ... asks me as I look at her with wide eyes while she helps me stand on ne feet again.

"I.. uhm.. yes I'm okay thank you for catching me Daisy." I say shyly and fidget with my fingers.

Daisy grabed my hand and looks me in my eyes.
"Are you sure, cause Soojin pushed a little hard." Daisy says sounding concerned about me.

"I really am okay.. she only pushed me so that I would talk... to you." I say looking down.

"Why would soojin want that you would talk to me? Does she you to tell me that she likes me?" Daisy starts to bombard me with questions.

"No she doesn't like you but..." I pause before continuing and now looking at daisy. "But I do like you... I finally said it." As I finish talking daisy looks at me stunned.

"I- oh woah, I didn't expect that." She says with a smile on her face.
