As the sun began to set, soon the moon rosed into the big starry sky. Raine lied there on the ground in the living room just waiting for silence. The beast continued to screech and growl as she clawed at the door but soon had fallen silent. The beast let out a large yawn as she opened her mouth wide, she then walked over back to her nest and climbed back inside and lied back down, nuzzling into the nest and soon curled up and ended up falling asleep shortly after. Raine's ears perked up as they listened to the once screeching beast soon fall silent, making the entire house fall quiet. They slowly sat up as they glanced around before slowly stand up, they then decided to look around her home. "I shouldn't snoop... But, I am curious." They said to their self before they walked towards the kitchen. They walked into her kitchen, there was items scattered around each and every way. Items hung up, items on the shelves, and times on her table and counter. They looked at all the items, seeming a lot of them were just random. "Where does she get all this stuff... I know she couldn't afford... What ever this is-" They had picked up a baby doll that had just random trinkets all over it. Which weirded Raine out, they then placed it back down before walking towards her fridge to see what she may have in it. They reached over to the handle and slowly pulled the door open to the fridge reveal what was inside it. As they opened it they looked inside to see what she had in it, the items were mostly rotting or spoiled foods and tons of apple blood. "What in titans name- Titan! It smells! And why is there so much apple blood!" Raine spat out as they were grossed out by the smell of the rotting food in her fridge, They quickly closed the fridge and walked quickly out of the kitchen to get away from the smell. As they walked out they glanced up at the steps leading to her room wanting to be there for her, but that beast seemed to want to hurt them but also seemed to care for the bard. They then shook their head softly before walking back into the living room. They then went to the couch and slowly sat down on it as they stared down at their feet as they thought about all that had happened and the beast, hearing the echoing of her horrid screech she had let out when she shifted, knowing she was in pain when she shifted. They moved their hands up to their face as they rubbed their face and groaned. "I horrible... Even tho I was about to die...But, her kindness is still there... I just hope she is okay..." They mumbled to their self as they sat there, soon they moved up move into the couch and pulled their knees up to their chest as they hugged their knees and closed their eyes. They decided they would sleep on the couch and wait for her to shift back so they could check on her. As they lied there they just zoned out, having flashbacks of the large beast, how her large black eyes met theirs, how her eyes held so much pain in them specially with shifting and how much she's been through... How they hurt her aswell... How they were her last and only one who cared for her and stayed with her... But they had left her, left her for a coven. But the truth was her curse also had them in a choke hold with them and her, with how Eda hid her curse and never told them about it. How it affected her, how it affected her life... But soon the bard had fallen asleep on the couch just thinking of Eda until they had drifted to sleep...
Soon the next day arose. The isles woke up as usual, tho it was a rather cloudy day outside. The isles wasn't its formal bright self, it was gloomy and dark outside with a thick covering of clouds covering its skies. Raine was sound asleep on the couch in Eda's living room, for a couch having been thrown out that Eda had found it was a comfortable couch. As Raine slept into the morning Eda soon woke, she had shifted back in her nest. She was surrounded by her feathers, her hair was all messy and ratty, from her being a tosser and turner when she slept never staying in one spot when she slept led to her hair becoming a knotty mess. She'd slowly sat up, her hair was just all over the place and some of it covered her face. She reached up as she groaned, flipping her hair back before yawning, reaching her arms up and stretching before standing up and stepping out of her nest. She scratched her back before glancing around, she saw all the feathers all over the place and scratch marks on her walls, doors, and other items in her room. She gasped as she scanned around her room, she didn't understand what had happened until she began to think, she let out a horrified gasp as she looked around all over her room. "No! No! I couldn't have! Please tell me I didn't! Oh titan!" She cried out. She began to panic as she cried worried she may have hurt or killed or hurt her past lover. "I don't see any blood! Oh no... DID I EAT THEM WHOLE?!" She couldn't bare the thought of eating them, but then she looked over at the door. "So many scratch marks... They must have got out then! Thank the titan, but... I probably... Probaly chased them off... Gah, this is just horrible..." She said as she lowered her head. She then slowly opened the door before walking out of her room, she walked down her hallway as she gazed around making sure that there wasn't anything else that may have happened but nothing looked out of place. "Good... The beast didn't get out..." She said with a sigh of relief before walking to her steps, she slowly made her way down the steps which each step she thought about what may have happened. She finally reached the bottom of the steps to where she then turned into her living room which was pretty dim and dark from the outside being so cloudy and dark and having no lights on. She walked over to her couch before slightly jumping up and flopping down on it to where she then suddenly felt the sudden impact she made with something. She then heard the sudden scream of fright from someone, someone she knew but it didn't hit her right away. It was Raine, they let out a pained and surprised scream. "AHHH-" They screamed out. Eda then gasped and quickly got up, she snapped her fingers to make all of the candles light in her living room to light up the room. There then in the candle light was Raine looking up at her surprised. "Oh my titan! I'm sorry Raine! I didn't see you! Uh... Why are you on my couch?..." Eda exclaimed before questioning them. The bard looked at her still waking up and trying to calm down now. "I... U-Uh... Wanted to make sure you were okay... S-So... So I slept on you your couch... Hope that was okay..." They said in a nervous tone. She looked at them with saddened eyes before softly smiling. "Oh, I see... Thank you Raine, but you didn't have too... Specially... After what happened... A-Are you okay? Are you hurt?" She reached down and grabbed their arm and looked it over to make sure they they were okay. They let out a chuckle, before sitting up. "I'm okay Edalyn... The beast didn't attack me per say, but it did come after me." They said to the witch trying to keep her calm, knowing she was worried about them. The ginger haired witch let out a soft sigh of relief, having been worried she may have hurt them. The bard smiled softly as they looked up at her, they had missed seeing her. They could tell and see how much she still cared about them, how she treated them and how she looked at them the same way. They felt like a horrible monsters for breaking up with her and breaking her heart. Knowing they were one of the last witches she knew and that they were one of the only who spoke to her. They looked at her before letting a sigh out, they reached down and grabbed her her hand. Pulling it up slightly as they held her one hand with both of theirs. "I-I'm so sorry Edalyn... I didn't know how this affected you, seeing you shift... Seemed horrifying and painful... Why did you never tell me this curse did this too you?..." They said as they stared into her eyes with their pained eyes. They had no idea this curse that was placed upon her did such a horrible thing, how it was weakening her and her ability to have a normal life.
The witch felt them grab her hand, and slowly pulled it up infront of her as they held it. She'd look up into their pained eyes as they spoke to her, she'd frown as she glanced away. "I-I know... I know, I should have told you sooner... But I was terrified. And it made me stupid and ignorant not to tell you... I'm so, so.. Sorry Raine..." She said to them as she began to stutter and tear up.The bard looked at her as she began to break down infront of them. Having never really had the witch cry infront of them, since she was always one to act tough and never cry. So it was a surprise to see her like this, having usually been the one who was being comforted by her but, now it was their turn. They moved closer slightly pulling her into their lap as they wrapped their arms around the witch and began to pull her close and hug her. They rubbed her back gently wanting to make sure she felt better. They began to hum softly as they rubbed her lower back, humming the tune of 'Raine's Requiem' that Eda had made awhile back for them, the melody of it was beautiful when played and was also great to hum. As they did so Eda just broke done crying in their arms, her sad and pained sobs could be heard out as she held onto them. She'd grab onto their shirt as she cried, she then moved closer herself and placed her head onto their chest as she cried. As she cried their shirt was began to get soaked by her tears but they didn't care just wanting to make her feel better.
After awhile of comforting and talking Eda began to calm down. She slowly sat up and wipes her eyes and nose with her sleeve before looking up at them. They looked down at her and smiled softly, they were happy to help her calm down and relax. They then glanced down at their shirt seeing the wet spot on their shirt from her tears and snot. They chuckled as they looked up at her. "Ewww, you got snot on me!" They teased her as they pretended to act grossed out.
Eda looked down at their shirt as they said so and listened. She'd chuckled as she then grabbed their shirt and blew into it like a tissue. "Eww! Eda! That's actually gross Eda!" They said as they slightly held the shirt up not wanting her snot to touch their skin. Eda was once again her funny and weird self, she stuck her tongue out at them as she got up. "Sorry, let me go get you a clean shirt. I will be back!" She said as she got up and rushed upstairs to her room to find them a shirt to wear, she went through her closest before finding a t shirt for them, it was just plain white and kinda big for them but it would be atleast a shirt for them to wear. She then when she went to go back down she glanced once more around her room, seeing what a mess the beast made of it last night, she'd sigh and shake her head before hurrying back down the steps to them.
Once she was back downstairs she handed them the shirt. "Thank you Eda." They said as they looked up to her and smiled. They then took of their shirt and changed to the clean one, they looked up to her before they chuckled. "You're gross."
The witch rolled her eyes as she chuckled "I know I am." She'd say as she smiled, see seemed much better and happy then before. They smiled as they slowly stood up, they then glanced to the side. "So... Uh... Do you think we can work this all out?... Maybe you tell me more about your curse so I can help you?... And maybe there is away we can help you?..." They said abit nervous, but truly wanted to work this all out.
Eda listened to them as they spoke, she was abit hesitant but wanted to do the same. Not wanting to talk about the curse but she wanted them back as much as they wanted her back. She agreed as she stood there abit nervous but truly wanted to have them back in her life so she'd agree.
