The moment Dedue saw Kiera he fell in love. Her pale skin, light brown wavy hair, violet eyes and kind face captivated him. She was a noble lady from Faerghus of house Charon. She often interacted with Dimitri from the time they were very young. But Dedue refused to be distracted by her. He had a duty to protect Dimitri. Then She was sent off to another world through an Outrealm gate so that she could go to school. He just didn't know how hard her absence would be until she was gone.

Dear Dimitri,

I am officially sixteen! I've been learning magic from Professor Fig for the last several months before the school term begins. I told him about how my family never celebrated my birthday back home when he asked when my birthday was and he got me a cake and a small present today to celebrate. The cake was chocolate and tasted amazing and the gift was a new journal and a beautiful quill. Everything is going well, I'm seeing so many new things and people and I can not wait to tell you about trains. Steam engines are remarkable, they call them iron horses! Tomorrow I officially leave London for Hogwars. I'm still using a borrowed wand but they have an Olivanders in Hogsmeade, I'll go there and get my own sometime soon. I'm dreadfully excited but I have to force myself to sleep. I will write to you again soon.

Your friend,
Kiera

Dear Kiera,

I'm glad you are excited for school. I can't wait to hear all about it. Dedue is improving in his reading and writing skills exponentially, you should write to him too since you'll be away for at least three years. You know him, he hides his emotions pretty well but I know he misses you too. I promise I will search tirelessly for a solution to your problem. I will not allow you to go to that woman killer.

Your friend,
Dimitri

Dear Dimitri,

You will not believe all the crazy things that happened to me in the span of two days! My carriage to school was pulled by these creatures called Thestrals, and one can only see them if you've seen death, they are eerie but tragic beautiful creatures. They make it so that the carriage flies! We were joined by a friend of Professor Fig's and he had this strange locked container that Miriam, the professor's late wife, had found. I could see a glow that they couldn't and when I held it it popped open and a key was inside. Not long after our carriage was attacked by a dragon! It bit the thing clean in half! Professor Fig and I are okay but his friend George was in the other half of the carriage and he died in the dragon's jaws. As we were falling Professor fig grabbed the key and we were transported far away to a cliff side coast with the ruins of a home out on a pillar of stone over the ocean. We found a way there and explored the house. There was this glassy stone substance with more of that strange glow and it took us to Gringotts bank and I got to see my first Goblin!

Dimitri kept reading Kiera's latest letter growing more and more alarmed as she described what occurred in the bank, the fighting, Ranrok. He was glad to see her excitement over being sorted into hufflepuff, a house that prized loyalty and hard workers. He called Dedue over to read with him as she described her first day at school and how she was already excelling in her classes past expectations. She described her trip to Hogsmeade and how her new wand looked and felt, even making a sketch of it in the margins. Then came the troll attack and how she and Natsai Onai fought one of two trolls that barreled through the small town. Strange magic continued to follow Kiera throughout her letter and then she got to the part where she overheard the goblin Ranrok demanding Rookwood kidnap her. She and her new friend Natti ran to the three broomsticks where she had her first butterbeer and Rookwood and Harlow threatened her but were stopped by the other patrons. She ended her letter remarking that she didn't expect to make so many enemies so quickly and promised to be careful and to stay safe.
