Later as the large group was waiting at the gate to Hogwarts, the whole group was abuzz about the aggressive, dangerous yet fascinating game they had just witnessed.
Catherine crossed her arms over her chest as she stood next to Dedue.
"Molinaro. Where have I heard that name before?" The knight asked
Dedue stiffened, his muscles coiling preparing to either fight or run.
"I noticed as well." Felix crossed his arms over his chest as well.
Sylvain had a sour look on his face and Ingrid had her hands on her hips, looking angry and judgmental.
The prince quickly intervened on Dedue's behalf. "I can explain." Dimitri held out his hands.
"What have you done this time, boar?" Felix demanded.
"We did it to save Kiera from her step mother's plans." Dimitri stated "she wouldn't marry me, she said she didn't want the responsibility that came with it. So I arranged-"
"What are you talking about?" Catherine glared at him "you arranged a marriage for my sister?"
"They were going to marry her off to Bathory." Dedue interjected and they felt the anger around them evaporate into horror.
"Bathory? Why?" Catherine asked
Dimitri continued his explanation. "Your mother was jealous of Kiera's influence over me and her inability to control her. So she was going to get rid of her. Kiera's birth mother got her admitted here and that bought her time but she couldn't return because the threat was still there. One of Kiera's new friends suggested she get married to someone else so I offered myself first. As I expected she refused. and then when I suggested Dedue she agreed. They both did. If she's married they can't force her to marry someone else."
Catherine pinched the bridge of her nose. "My parents are vile. Take care of my sister and we'll have no issues." She told Dedue
The Duscurn man nodded "I have no plans on getting on your bad side, lady Catherine."
"Good." Catherine patted his shoulder "welcome to the family. Though I suppose it's just me and Kit now. We'll have to get to know each other."
"You are... taking this quite well." Dedue said warily.
"You're already married, there's nothing I can do about it. I don't want to alienate my little sister so I have to accept you." Catherine sighed "though I'd have liked to have been there and known about your and her situation sooner."
"Apologies, Catherine." Dimitri apologized
Elsewhere a little up the road, Poppy had blindfolded Kiera and was leading her along with Natti and Ominis following behind them.
"Poppy! Where are you taking me? Come on! I have to rest!" Kiera exclaimed. She was in a casual embroidered hufflepuff uniform and had a loose brown and yellow scarf with a badger on it. Something to be casual and relaxed in.
"I promise you're going to love this." Poppy swore as she continued to lead Kiera to where the large group was.
"Poppy I swear if it's another puffskein-"
"It's not. I can see the surprise." Natti assured her.
"There's a lot of people ahead." Ominis stated detecting them with his wand.
"People? Pooooppyyyyyy" Kiera whined
"Oh hush and stop being dramatic." Poppy laughed
The large group had heard Kiera whine and had gone quiet.
