Rishab was sitting in the lounge of a club. A few women who were dancing earlier with some guys came and sat on the couch beside him. The women started whispering and giggling among themselves while the men went off to order the drinks. A little later three of them left. The other two started checking Rishab out. Their giggling caught his attention. He signaled the waiter for another round of drinks and turned to see them. They smiled at him and waved. He nodded and smiled back. They talked among themselves and a little later one of them got up from the couch and walked up to him.
"Hey there! Do you mind if I join you?" The lady asked.
Rishab looked at her and shrugged. She sat beside him, her legs touching his.
"I am Era. We saw you were sitting here alone so I thought I would give you some company."
Rishab just smiled.
She ran her finger over his hand, "You are handsome. I'm sure you have a girlfriend."
"Thanks for the compliment, Era. I am happily single."
She smiled, "Hmm.. we can have a great time then. By the way what should I call you?"
Rishab smirked, "Anything you want..I don't mind."Soon they were seen leaving the couch and moving to the dance floor. She kept dancing close to him. Her body pressed against him. He held her waist, swayed along. She then whispered something into his ear and took him away, holding his wrist.
They were in the bathroom, kissing fervently. She pulled the jacket off him and got back to kissing him. He made her sit on the platform, pulled her hair to get access to her neck. She slipped her hands under his t-shirt, scratching him on his back as he bit her neck. Things were getting intense when she murmured, "I love you, Baby!"
He stopped and moved back. He stared at her face as she gazed back confused.
"What's wrong? Why did you stop? I didn't mean what I said. I don't love you. Relax. C'mon, kiss me." She said to him.
He shook his head, "Sorry! I can't do it. I am sorry."
He picked up the jacket and rushed out of the room.Coming out of the club, he muttered a few curses, kicked on the curb and muttered a few more curses.
"Hey, is that you? Yes, it's you, Rishab Khurana!" He heard a voice and turned back.
A man stood only a few feet away from him. He was an average heighted, fair and good looking man. He had a smile on his face as he came closer.
He extended his hand, "Pehchana nahi mujhe? I am Varun. We were doing Residency in Delhi."
"Of course!"
They shook their hands."We are meeting after a long time. How are you?" He asked.
Rishab didn't smile back but just nodded, "I am.. good, Varun. What are you doing in Mumbai? Last I knew you were in Gurgaon."
"I have moved here recently. My fiancee wants to stay close to her parent's so.. Anyways, tu jaa raha hai kya? Why don't you join me?" Varun asked.
"No, I need to go home. You enjoy with your fiancee."Varun laughed, "No, she is not with me. She is in London with her mother for wedding shopping. Abhi tak date fix nahi hui but you know how girls are. They need an excuse to shop. I am here with my friends. Suna tha Mumbai ki nightlife bahut happening hai, socha check out karun."
He winked and whispered, "I have heard about the hot girls too. So I thought about having some good time. "
Rishab rubbed his temples and said, "You enjoy.. I was leaving. See you later."
He left without waiting for him to speak.Rishab drove through the streets of the city, trying to think clearly. He never cared about love. Flirting around, drinking and sleeping with women was what he loved. Then why did he leave? He tried to reason with his mind but came up with no answers. And suddenly he realized, he never loved doing what he did.
He returned home and opened the door to get inside. It was dark as the lights were off. He turned them on, came and sat down on the couch. As he sat, the first thing that his eyes fell on was a sheet of paper and keys on the center table. He picked it up and knew what had happened. He unfolded the paper and started reading it.
