Rishab woke up with a jolt, another nightmare. This has been an every night thing these days. He knew he had to do something but he chose to ignore it. He has been taking sleeping pills but they weren't helping him.
Annoyed, he left the bed and went into change. He needed to clear his mind before the big day. He had been cleared to operate by his physical therapist. He would be joining the ED full-time now. He looked into Khushi's room, it was empty. She was still at the hospital, completing her 36 hour shift. He put on the ear pod and left for a run.
He was feeling much better when he returned home an hour later. He headed straight to his room and came face-to-face with Khushi. She was in a towel and had just come out of the bath. Her hair was wet and water drops fell on her naked shoulders. He couldn't take his eyes off her. His gaze made her cheeks hot. She immediately turned away, pulling the towel tightly.
She said to him, "Just go out na. I have to change."
He had a smile on his face, "This is my room and you are asking me to leave? What are you doing here, Miss Kirayedar?"
"Mere bathroom ka water pressure acha nahi hai. I wanted a good shower after a 36 hour shift. So.. by the way, main Kirayedar Kab se ban gai?" She asked, peeping back.He came closer and with a mischievous smile, he said, "Phir kya ho tum? Girlfriend?"
"Of course!"
He slipped his arms around her waist
"Rishab, you are sweaty and I jyst showered. Kya kare ho?"He kissed her ear lobes, sending her chills, "Romance. Ignore everything else and listen to me. If you are my girlfriend then I have the right to kiss you and do much more than that."
He turned her to face him and she whispered, "I thought you said something about taking things slow."
"Six months under one roof but still away from each other. Don't you think that is a pretty long time?"He lifted her chin and was about to kiss her when they heard the door open and a voice of a lady.
"Shit! Your cook, Parvati Bai is here." Khushi mumbled.
"So early?"
She pushed him away, "Tum jao. Main change Kar ke aa rahi hun. Go otherwise she will come inside and soon the world will hear I don't know what kind of stories. Jao."
She pushed him away, took her clothes and went back inside the bathroom. Rishab slammed his head and went out.The Bai kept blabbering about how she has to go to visit her ailing mother so she had come earlier. She won't be able to come for a few days and if he wanted, she could send her daughter as her replacement.
"No. Not needed. I will manage."
He sat down on the sofa with an irritated face, muttering, "Shala har koi mere romance ki watt lagane pe tula hai. Tera kuch nahi ho sakta Dr. Rishab Khurana. Tu single hi thik tha."Rishab entered the conference room where a seminar was held. A renowned surgeon had come to the hospital for the same and was giving his lectures. Rishab's eyes went straight to Khushi, who sat beside Nisha and others. He took a seat beside Dr.Srinivas and kept stealing glances at her.
Nisha whispered, "Khushi, is Dr.Rishab staring at you? I think he is smiling at you."
Khushi looked at her and said, "No.. sh.. chup. They will hear."She immediately took her phone out and texted, "Rishab, stop staring. Nisha ko doubt ho raha hai."
His phone beeped, he took it out and read her message. He smiled and texted back, "I am not staring at you but your lips. I miss them. Want to kiss you right now!"
Khushi turned red reading it, "Please. Stop.""I haven't started anything yet. I want to do so much more. I want to bite on his lips, nibble your ear lobes and kiss on your neck."
"Pagal ho gaye ho tum?"
"Pagal toh tumne banaya hai."
"Such a cheesy line! I have to stop you or you will land us both in trouble. So, kasam lage tumhe, stop staring and sending texts."Rishab stared at her with an annoyed look and slipped his phone back in his pocket. She tried to suppress her smile and look ahead with a serious face.
"Please somebody help my mother!" A heavily pregnant woman came into the ER with an elderly woman. The mother of the lady had a cut on her forehead, she was limping and she was holding her left wrist which appeared to be broken.
Rishab got a wheelchair, made the mother sit on it. They took the older woman into the ER. He told Khushi to check on the daughter and left.
