Kang Soo Jin's POV:
Hand in hand, we walked out of the tteokbokki place. "That tteokbokki place had some of the best tteokbokki I've ever tasted!" I commented.
"Mmh, I think it was a bit spicy but yeah, it was alright." Han Seo Jun replied, sipping from a bottle of water.
"See I knew it, you can't handle spice!" I teased him, grinning.
Hiding the water bottle out of sight, he turned back to me. "No! I can handle spice, I ate a whole plate of tteokbokki didn't I?" He denied.
I chuckled. "Whatever you say Han Seojun," I said, going on my tiptoes to give him a peck on the cheek.
All of a sudden, we heard a voice projected by a megaphone. "HEY!!! COME ONE AND ALL TO AUDITION TO BE MOVE'S ENTERTAINMENT'S NEWEST K-POP IDOLS!" The voice cried, drawing attention to a booth with the words "BE MOVE ENTERTAINMENT'S NEWEST K-POP IDOLS" emblazoned on it.
Trying to prevent being swept by the huge crowd that was beginning to form, the voice shouted again, this time directed at us both.
"HEY!! DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS GOLD OPPORTUNITY, COME AND AUDITION NOW!" the voice cried through the megaphone.
I turned and was surprised to see it was none other than Hee-Kyung, Lim Jugeong's sister who worked for Move Entertainment.
"Hee Kyung? You're holding auditions in the shopping mall?" I asked the woman sitting in a chair next to the booth holding a megaphone.
"Why isn't it Lim Jugeong's friend Kang Soojin and the great Han Seo Jun? You guys sure have the visuals to become K-pop idols! Please consider auditioning, I bet you both would do great." She told us with a huge smile on her face.
I rolled my eyes. "Come on Han Seo Jun, we better get going it's getting late," I said to my boyfriend, dragging him away from the booth.
He pulled me back. "Why not? It'll be fun even if we don't actually pass." He suggested, eyes shining.
I sighed. "Okay, but I'm only doing this for you," I told him.
Hee-Kyung grinned. "Great, you guys can go in turns showing me what skill you specialize in, whether that's singing, dancing, or even rapping!" She instructed us both.
We nodded. I watched as Han Seo Jun grabbed a guitar from the side of the booth and stood in front of a microphone stand. He began to sing his voice husky and not even off-tune in the slightest. I stood there in awe with the crowds of people around the booth.
"I used to tease him about playing around being a K-Pop Idol, but damn he really can sing. He might actually have a shot at passing this audition." I thought to myself, as I watched him perform.
I watched as he gave me a glance and smiled as if he had heard my thoughts. Finished singing the last lyric of the song, he said into the microphone: "I dedicate that song to my girlfriend, who I love very much."
I could feel my face flush with embarrassment as the crowd gazed at me and started saying "Awww!" Seeing the commotion, Hee-Kyung grinned. "What a beautiful performance! From that look on your face Soojin, you must have enjoyed that!" She teased.
Grabbing Han Seo Jun's arm, I tried to run away. Feeling a million pairs of eyes on me and hearing Hee-Kyung's voice, I stopped. "Hey, come back! You haven't auditioned yet." She called out after me.
"Guess there's no getting out of this one." I thought to myself as I approached the booth to Hee-Kyung and Han Seojun's delight.
"Don't worry, you'll do great! I'll turn on some music and try your best to sing along and show off your moves!" Jugeong's sister reassured me.
Nervous, I managed a small nod. As soon as Hee-Kyung turned on the music, it was like my body had a mind of its own. My body swayed and twirled to the beat and I hit every note perfectly.
The crowd cheered as I performed. I could see Han Seo Jun gazing at me, a mixture of surprise and awe.
Han Seo Jun's POV:
I was surprised by the way my girlfriend danced and sang as if it came naturally to her. I was entranced by her performance, the way she danced to the rhythm keeping everyone transfixed while her voice was angelic drawing more and more people to the booth like sirens luring sailors.
Once she had finished, she bowed while a demure expression spread across her face. Seeing me clapping, she ran towards me and pulled me into a hug.
"Well weren't those two such great performers? Let's give another round of applause to Han Seo Jun and Kang Soo Jin!" Hee-Kyung yelled through the megaphone.
The crowd cheered, whistled, and clapped in response. Hee-Kyung looked at me and Kang Soojin. "The crowd loves you, you've passed the audition for sure!" Declared Hee-Kyung, her eyes shining with excitement.
My girlfriend shook her head. "No, we couldn't possibly. We already have jobs." She declined.
Hee-Kyung frowned in disappointment. "Come on! Won't you at least consider it? This is a golden opportunity, millions of people would love to be in your shoes right now." She pleaded.
Watching as the crowd started chanting our name, we sighed. "We'll consider it. We need to talk to our boss first." Han Seo Jun promised Jugeong's sister.
Soojin nodded in agreement. Hearing this, Hee-Kyung smiled. "Great! Here's my card, call me once you've made the final decision." She said, handing me her card.
I glanced at the card with the official Move Entertainment logo and Hee-Kyung's number. Her voice echoed in my ears: "This is a golden opportunity, millions of people would love to be in your shoes right now."
I took the card. "We'll call you," I promised her.
