Kang Soojin's POV:

"Kang Soojin, you need to wake up." A voice murmured in my ear repeatedly.

I groaned and opened my eyes to see three girls staring at me. It was Hwa Young, Da Eun and  Ae-Ri. They were already dressed in their day clothes and looked at me concerned.

"Soojin, are you alright? It's not like you to sleep late, you didn't forget we have a meeting with our producer today did you?" asked Hwa Young, arms crossed.

I rubbed my eyes and frowned, trying to remember the events of yesterday. Then, it came to me. I had zoned out during Miss Choi's lesson that day but I remembered her mentioning we would be meeting a producer who would be in charge of our debut song.

I began to clamber out of bed in panic. "Oh shit, I totally forgot. Thanks for waking me up guys, I'm so sorry!" I blabbered.

"No worries! We'll wait for you outside," said Hwa Young with a smile.

She left the room with Da Eun and Ae-Ri, leaving me to quickly get ready. As I slipped on a clean shirt and a pair of jeans, the events of last night flashed in front of my eyes.

Han Seojun had snuck into my room, we stayed up talking, cuddling and kissing not knowing whether we'd be able to see each other again. I had begun to feel sleepy so Han Seojun tucked me into bed and tiptoed quietly out of my room.

As a result, I slept late and my eyes were heavy. "I don't know how I'll be able to get through today," I grumbled to myself as I finished buttoning my shirt and hurried to the bathroom.

I opened the faucet and splashed water on my face. The water felt cold as ice which woke me up straight away. Rapidly, I patted my face dry with my towel and ran towards the door where Hwa Young and the girls were waiting.

"Took you long enough, girl!" commented Ae-Ri, as we began walking briskly to the studio.

"Don't mind her, she's the perfectionist of the group. She hates even being a minute late." Da Eun whispered to me reassuringly.

I smiled at her reassuring comment as we walked towards the studio. Once we had reached the studio, Hwa Young stepped forward and opened the door. The studio was set up with a huge L-shaped sofa with a glass coffee table. In front of the lounge area was a desk with a large monitor complete with a laptop, keyboard, and music production equipment.

A guy sat at the desk in an office chair. He swiveled around to face us. He dressed head to toe in black and wore headphones around his neck. "Hello, I'm Park Haneul. I'll be the producer for your debut song. But you may call me Mr. Park." He introduced himself.

Hwa Young stepped forward and shook hands with him. "It's nice to meet you, Mr. Park. I'm Hwa Young and these are the rest of the members: Kang Soojin, Ae-Ri, and Da Eun." She said, gesturing to each of us.

He looked at us, taking in everything from what we were wearing to the expressions on our faces. Like Hwa Young, he was very observant but unlike her, I felt at ease with him despite us having met only once.

He swiveled back to the desk and gestured to the lounge area. "Please take a seat the four of you. Let's get started." He instructed.

He then opened up a file of songs on the computer. "These are demos of songs that I've been working on with some other writers and artists. I have permission to let you guys choose which song you'd like to have as your debut song. Once we've chosen, we'll start recording vocals." He explained to the three of us.

We listened to all sorts of songs which went from ballads to upbeat songs. The four of us were unsure which one to pick until the one came. It included a guitar which Da Eun liked, a piano which Hwa Young liked, and a dance break which Ae-Ri liked. But what I really liked most of all was that its lyrics were about two people who had fallen in love with each other but were forbidden to be together.

I couldn't help but see myself in the song. It felt like the song was meant for me, that it was written about me and Han Seojun's relationship.

"I see you guys are enjoying this song. Would you like this to be your debut song?" Mr. Park asked with a smile.

"Oh, could it be? I'd love that!" I answered excitedly. Realizing my members were staring at me with huge smiles on my face, I buried my face in my hands.

"I'm sorry. I should've asked you guys first. This is our debut song after all." I mumbled, embarrassed.

Da Eun patted my back reassuringly. "No! You did nothing wrong at all, we love the song as much as you do. You just took us by surprise by your outburst." She replied.

"Da Eun's right. We really love the song, there's no need to be embarrassed." Ae-Ri agreed with a grin.

"So it's settled then, Mr. Park could we start recording our vocals for this song?" Hwa Young asked, eyes shining.

Mr. Park nodded and opened a program for music-making. "Kang Soojin, as you like this song so much, why don't you step up to the microphone and sing the first verse?" He suggested with a beam.

I flushed with embarrassment and gave a small nod. I walked towards the microphone and put on headphones. As soon as the instrumental played, I glanced at the lyric sheet in front of me and began to sing.

Hwa Young's POV:

I had watched her audition with the girls the day she came. But hearing her voice live was a whole new experience. I watched her mesmerized by how beautiful yet soothing her voice was.

She sang as if this song was made for her like she could relate to the song. I frowned, the song was about a couple who had fallen in love but were forbidden to be together. There's no way that this could be her story. What she's going through? Her big secret?

Narrator's POV:

Hwa Young continued listening with the other two girls as Kang Soojin sang melodically along to the songs' instrumental. Little did Kang Soojin know that Hwa Young was slowly putting the pieces together. And that her secret was close to being revealed. Could she keep her secret safe or was it completely impossible?
