Kang Soojin's POV:

The next day I went out with Han Seojun to an ice cream shop. The sun was out non-stop and we both felt like we needed something ice-cold to cool us down, besides the fact I still needed to figure out whether I was gonna accept Hee-Kyung's offer.

I sat down scraping chocolate ice cream from my bowl, while Han Seojun enjoyed some vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce. After a mouthful of vanilla ice cream, Han Seojun dabbed at his face with a napkin before asking: "So, have you made up your mind about Hee-Kyung's offer?"

I continued chewing my ice cream, which was icy cold and sweet. I thought of how I felt singing and dancing at the booth. How it felt to have people cheering for me, transfixed with my performance. I felt utter joy.

I put down my spoon after finishing my chocolate ice cream and turned to my boyfriend who was still waiting for an answer. "You know what, I'm gonna accept her offer too. I actually enjoyed performing at the auditions," I told him.

Pleased I had decided to accept, he beamed at me. "That's great you want to do this too, Soojin. Now, all we need to do is tell our parents and talk to Sun-Young about finding replacements to work at her coffee shop part-time." He told me.

I nodded nervously. Would my mom let me train to be a K-pop idol? I was unsure. Though she never pushed me towards any particular career like my dad who wanted me to be a doctor, there was still the chance she'll refuse to let me be an idol.

"Could you come with me? For support. I'm nervous to go on my own to tell my Mom." I confessed to Seojun.

He gave a reassuring nod. "Of course, I'll always be here for you Soojin." We got up from our seats as the workers cleared away our bowls.

Hand in hand, we headed to my and my Mom's apartment.

At the apartment...

I unlocked the door and went inside with Han Seojun by my side. "Mom! I need to talk to you, I brought a guest!" I called out.

Hearing my voice, my mom rushed downstairs. "Soojin! Who's this handsome boy? Why didn't you tell me earlier you were gonna bring such an attractive guest over?" She gushed over my boyfriend.

"He's my boyfriend, Mom. We met when I had to do a trial shift for the coffee shop job." I explained.

"I'm only here to support Kang Soojin, she has something she'd like to tell you," responded Han Seojun.

Listening to the Han boy, she turned to me with a frown. "You're not pregnant are you Kang Soojin?"

I flushed with embarrassment, as Han Seojun tittered at this. "No, I'm not Mom," I told her.

"Okay then, what do you want to tell me then?" She asked, crossing her arms.

"I got an offer to become a K-pop idol with Han Seojun, and I've decided I want to accept it," I confessed to her, nervously anticipating her reaction.

To my astonishment, my Mom jumped up and down squealing with excitement like I had won the lottery. She grabbed my hands. "Oh, I'm so happy for you Soojin! I'll get to see you on TV and everything." She exclaimed to me.

"So, does this mean you'll let me accept the offer?" I asked her, still astonished.

"Oh, of course! This is a big opportunity Soojin. You mustn't let it go to waste." She insisted.

I thanked her for her approval and left the house with Han Seojun. Han Seojun turned to me. "Well... that went well." He said.

"Yeah... now we need to go talk to your Mom and Sun Young," I replied.

Surprisingly, Han Seojun's Mom was pleased with the offer we had received from Hee-Kyung. His sister was even more overjoyed with the possibility of Han Seojun meeting her favorite celebrities. Walking out the door with both of our families' approval, me and Han Seojun walked out and shut the door with relief.

"Finally, let's head to the coffee shop to talk to Sun-Young," I told Han Seojun.

"I'll call her and let her know in advance." Han Seojun insisted, unlocking his phone to call our boss.

"Hello, this is A'bout Coffee and Desserts. Who is speaking?" Sun-Young asked.

"Hello Sun-Young, it's me and Soojin. We need to speak to you urgently at the coffee shop. Are you able to arrange a meeting with us?" Han Seojun replied.

"Of course. I hope everything is okay, I'll see you in an hour," answered Sun-young before hanging up the phone.

At the coffee shop...

We opened the door which greeted us with a jingle of bells. Hearing our arrival, Sun-Young approached us with the brisk tip-tap of her heels and yet another pristine suit. She gave us a small smile as she ushered us to sit with her at one of the coffee shop tables.

Resting her interlaced hands on the table, she focused her attention on us. "So, you expressed you need to talk to me urgently. Did something happen?" She asked concerned.

I shook my head. "No, nothing serious has happened. We just wanted to talk to you about this job opportunity we both received. It's a full-time job, so unfortunately we won't be able to work part-time at the coffee shop." I explained to my boss.

She nodded in response, processing the information. She then looked up with a beam. "Well, I congratulate you and Han Seojun on the job opportunity. May I ask out of curiosity, what is this job?"

"We have been offered to work and train under one of the biggest record labels, Move Entertainment as K-pop idols," answered Han Seojun.

Surprised at this, Sun-Young raised her eyebrows. "Well, who knew the two part-timers of my coffee shop would be offered such an opportunity? I congratulate you once again, it is a very sensible choice that you didn't decline the offer. Remember me when you're famous the both of you." She remarked with a grin.

"So, does this mean we have your approval to resign?" I asked her.

"Yes, but first I want you to find and train two suitable candidates to work here in your stead." She told us.

I nodded. "I completely understand, Miss Young. I and Han Seojun will do the best of our abilities to find you suitable replacements." I told her.

Satisfied with my response, she dismissed us. "It has been a pleasure working with you both. I wish you both the best of luck for your future careers. I expect a call if you do end up finding any suitable candidates." She replied.

Relieved we had Sun-Young's approval, we left the coffee shop, the door jingling and swinging closed behind us. "I'll miss the jingle of those doors when we leave." Han Seojun told me.

I nodded. "Me too Seojun, me too." I agreed with my boyfriend.
