"Are you not feeling well, A-Yu?" asked Wei Wuxian, but Mo Xuanyu knew what he had wanted to ask: 'Are you not feeling well living here?'

Mo Xuanyu gulped. Even though he was still skeptical of Wei Wuxian, he had to admit that he had only treated him gently and nice so far. As if Mo Xuanyu was not dirty or repulsive, but as if he was actually a human being. A precious human being. No one in his life had ever given him this feeling before, and even though he knew it was selfish, Mo Xuanyu definitely did not want to let go of this feeling.

But he had been staring at the fork in his hand while thinking all this, and finally heard Wei Wuxian give a sad sigh. He must have been disappointed. Surely, now he would-

"I'm sorry, Xuanyu." Wei Wuxian said softly and put his hand gently on his shoulder, "Whatever it is that- that makes you feel this way, let me know so I can help. I'm really worried about you."

"I think I should go now." Mo Xuanyu put down his fork, shook Wei Wuxian's hand from his shoulder and rushed out the door.

It was only when he got to school that he realized he had forgotten his school backpack, and with it, the lunch money.

Mo Xuanyu felt as if his whole body was being crushed by a large rock. Every muscle in him wanted to collapse on the spot and let out the sadness and frustration of the past few days through tears and screaming.

But his head told him to run. As fast and as far as he could.
